𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗶 For 95 years, the Magaldi Group has been a pioneer in industrial technologies. From the Supercinghia to the Superbelt®, we have marked our history with customer-tailored innovations that respect the environment. ◾ 𝟭𝟵𝟮𝟵: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗶𝗮 Paolo Magaldi began large-scale production of the Supercinghia, transforming the artisan workshop in Buccino, the family's hometown, into a true factory. ◾ 𝟭𝟵𝟲𝟳: 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗧 Superbelt® is born, the "indestructible" conveyor belt. It was soon adopted globally in foundries, steel mills, cement plants, metallurgical plants, and wherever production processes required the handling of hot, heavy, bulk, sharp, or dusty materials. ◾ 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟱: 𝗠𝗔𝗖, 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗥𝗬 𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 Drawing on the extensive experience and know-how gained with Superbelt® technology, in 1985 Mario Magaldi patented the MAC® (Magaldi Ash Cooler), a system that revolutionized the extraction and transportation of dry bottom ash in coal-fired power plants. ◾ 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟮: 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠, 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗥 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 Magaldi develops and patents the STEM®-CSP technology to produce electric and thermal energy from solar radiation. ◾ 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯: 𝗠𝗚𝗧𝗘𝗦, "𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗬" The group develops the first experimental module of MGTES - Magaldi Green Thermal Energy Storage, an energy storage system based on a fluidized sand bed to store energy produced from renewable sources in the form of heat. ◾ 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰: “𝗨𝗥𝗕𝗔𝗡 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚” 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗔𝗠 Incinerator bottom ashes (IBA), discarded by waste-to-energy plants, become a valuable resource thanks to Madam technology. The Madam system developed by the Magaldi Group combines two crucial processes of the most advanced waste-to-energy plants: the dry extraction process and the ash treatment process. By processing even the finest ash particles, over 90% of the metals can be recovered.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗶’𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 "Genius is the extreme point of practical sense." Jean Cocteau's words perfectly encapsulate the essence of Magaldi's enduring success. It’s not just about being passionate inventors or skilled craftsmen but, above all, about being expert advocates for the innovative solutions developed by the company. This forward-thinking mindset was evident even in our earliest marketing strategies, guided by a core principle that continues to inspire us: a satisfied customer is the best business strategy. True to Magaldi’s distinctive style, this philosophy is expressed with an emphasis on thoughtful design and simplicity. One example of this approach can be seen in the historic catalogs and advertisements that even featured hand-drawn sketches. These illustrations provided practical tips on how to get the best performance from Magaldi’ Superbelts. Simple yet precise, they conveyed information directly to the customer, often reinforcing—or even replacing—written instructions. Looking back at these materials today, in the very year we celebrate the 95th anniversary of the company’s founding - illustrations paired with the company logo, classic catalogs, and vintage advertisements—not only underscores how marketing was already a key driver of Magaldi’s success but also offers a vivid glimpse into how its technologies were showcased around the world in the early 20th century. This legacy of excellence and customer focus is one we proudly carry forward to this day.

For 95 years — a milestone since its founding that Magaldi is celebrating this year—our company has been offering solutions and technologies to industries around the world, and half of this exciting journey has been guided by Mario Magaldi. Under his leadership, the company has managed to expand globally, while staying deeply rooted in Buccino, the small Italian town in the Salerno region where “it all began”. Thanks to his strategic vision, Magaldi has internationalized, driven by the dynamism of a family-run business. “When I was 15 years old, my father entrusted me with the responsibility of paying the workers in our factory. By 16, I was already traveling across Europe to sell our Superbelts. My life” Mario Magaldi recalls “is kneaded together with that of the company”. Following in the footsteps of his father Paolo, who in the 1960s pioneered a strategy of internationalization ante litteram with the first joint ventures in India, Mario led the company to conquer new markets, establishing it in over 50 countries.  He launched the Superbelt, the indestructible conveyor belt that quickly became the centerpiece of Magaldi’ solutions. He patented the MAC® Magaldi Ash Cooler system, the world’s first dry bottom ash handling system for solid fuel combustion, saving over 250 billion m³ of water. Staying true to the mission of sustainable development, he steered the company towards creating innovative solutions in renewable energy production and storage, including STEM, a system for generating electrical and thermal energy from solar radiation, and MGTES Magaldi Green Thermal Energy Storage, a thermal energy storage system that leverages the potential of sand to store and release "green heat" for the decarbonization of industrial processes. For his entrepreneurial achievements, ethical commitment, and contribution to the social and economic progress of the country, he was awarded the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro by the Presidency of the Italian Republic in 2013. “I have absolute faith in product excellence as a factor of competitiveness. I learned from my father to see economic profit not as the ultimate goal to be pursued at any cost, but as the natural result of outstanding work”.
