  • Few dairy industry Experts can identify adulteration in cow’s Milk and Buffalo’s milk. Although diffrence can be subtle, buffalo milk often has a whiter appearance compared to cow milk, One of the Agriculture professors told me very interesting information about it. The cow milk contains beta carotene, coming from grass and plants that the cows feed on. Beta carotene has a yellowish tinge and this is the core reason for the colour appearance of cow milk.    why HunterLab’s Color Flex EZ spectrophotometer is used in many dairy product companies in India? The reason is to prevent the adulteration of milk that is supplied to Dairy Product manufacturing companies from local milk suppliers. this adulterated milk is nothing but a mixture of cow milk in buffalo’s milk or the practice of adding substances to milk or removing its constituents to increase profit or deceive consumers. It became a big headache for dairy product manufacturers and dairy brands due to unbalanced properties of milk that differ in quality, and appearance and cause trouble with the end product.    Reflectance Spectrophotometry with Hunterlab Colorflex 45º/0º is Ideal for Milk Measurement in the dairy industry now. While many methods of spectroscopy exist like PCR Method, Raman, NIR, and transmission. the milk colour can be verified with one of the simplest and most economical method and that is reflectance measurement on  Hunterlab Colorflex 45º/0º spectrophotometer. A reflectance spectrophotometer bounces light off an opaque liquid (or solid) and measures the wavelengths of the light that is reflected back. Doing so permits an operator to observe colour on many scales, including CIE L*a*b*.    To check colour appearance in the milk Industry & to get market standardized b* value we can guide & educate the customer with a Demo. Certainly, it an inestimable information and we would like to share it with the right people. Milk samples measured this way can be compared to pre-programmed standards. This allows operators to quickly and simply discover any deviations from the appropriate colour. So not to cry over spilt milk, many Well-known dairy product manufacturers in India decided to go for HunterLab Spectrophotometer ColorFlex EZ.  For more information please feel free to contact me on swapnil_sonawdekar@irtech.in   #hunterlab #spectrophotometer #dairyproducts #foodindustry #colorflexez

  • We’ve specialized spectrophotometer for Denim Industry with 0°/45°-c circumferential geometry measures the substrate color the way the eye sees. It includes all the scales and indices that important in the denim industry including CIE L*a*b*, CIE LCh, Hunter L,a,b, and 555 shade Sorting and many more features.   Based on the need,HunterLab introduced a unique solution, EasyGroup, to help colourists sort dyed lots into shade groups or clusters, so that minute colour differences between them are not perceivable to a naked eye. The purpose of shade sorting is to allow manufacturers to keep to a minimum colour variation between different parts of a garment from different dye lots.   Our main feature of the QC software for Denim Industry is 555 Shade Sorting. It separates fabrics into blocks .these Blocks can be range from 111 to 999. The first 5 is L* Ø Second 5 is a* Ø Third 5 is b*. Samples with these same shade block number will be grouped and stitched together to avoid any perceptible shade variations in the garment.   Certainly , this blog is not sufficient to explain the method that saves Time & reduce the chances of rejected orders in Denim Industry. hence , we are open to deliver a Demo on our software. Let us know your interest and book your appointment.   #denim #textiles #HunterLab #spectrophotomete

I’m excited to share that I recently had the opportunity to visit National Institute of Technology Karnataka Suratkal, where we successfully installed LECO GCxGC TOF MS system. Meeting Dr. Keyur Raval who oversees the system, was a highlight of my trip. It’s incredibly rewarding to hear such positive feedback about the installation process and the system's performance. The team at NITK is truly impressed with the extensive applications of LECO Separation Science GCxGC TOF MS technology, particularly its ability to identify unknown samples. This capability opens up new avenues for research and innovation across various fields. I’m eager to see the groundbreaking work that will emerge from this collaboration, and I believe this installation will significantly enhance their analytical capabilities. Looking forward to continuing our partnership and supporting their exciting projects! #Innovation #LECO #GCxGC #MassSpectrometry IRTechnology

From Plasma to Insights: Decoding Metabolites with GCxGC-TOFMS In the world of metabolomics, uncovering subtle differences in complex biological samples can be a challenge. With LECO's GCxGC-TOFMS, we’ve demonstrated its powerful capabilities as a screening tool to identify potential metabolic biomarkers that differentiate between healthy and diseased states. In this study, pooled plasma samples from Zucker rats (lean, fat, and diabetic obese) were analyzed using a GCxGC-TOFMS workflow. The dual-dimensional chromatographic resolution, combined with high-speed time-of-flight mass spectrometry (up to 500 spectra/second), allowed us to: 🔍 Detect and deconvolve complex metabolite peaks. 📊 Compare metabolic profiles for variations using retention times and spectral similarities. 📚 Identify compounds via robust searches against libraries like NIST, Max Planck, and Fiehn Rtx5. Key findings include the identification of 12 metabolites with significant variations in peak areas across sample pools. This highlights the capability of GCxGC-TOFMS to resolve and identify metabolites buried under coeluting compounds in traditional one-dimensional chromatography. With ChromaTOF® software, we streamlined data processing, ensuring precise detection and analysis of complex sample matrices like blood plasma. Why this matters: The results validate GCxGC-TOFMS as a fast, efficient, and reliable approach for distinguishing metabolite variations. Its application extends to biomarker discovery, aiding in understanding health and disease states. At IR Tech, we’re excited to contribute to advancements in analytical science with cutting-edge solutions like LECO’s Pegasus 4D GCxGC-TOFMS. Curious to learn more or explore potential collaborations? Let’s connect and discuss how this technology can empower your research or industry applications! #GCXGC-TOF-MS #GCMS #LECO IR Technology Services Pvt Ltd

Unraveling the Science Behind the "Asparagus Effect" with Advanced GCxGC-TOFMS Technology Have you ever noticed a distinct odor in your urine shortly after enjoying asparagus? This phenomenon, known as the "asparagus effect," is caused by the metabolism of asparagusic acid, a compound unique to asparagus. When metabolized, it transforms into sulfur-containing compounds like methanethiol, dimethyl sulfide, and others that are responsible for this unmistakable aroma. In a recent study, the detection and analysis of these sulfur-containing metabolites were enhanced using GERSTEL's Twister Stir Bar Sorptive Extraction (SBSE) in combination with LECO's GCxGC-TOFMS technology. Here's how this approach revolutionized the process: Reduced Complexity: Traditional extraction techniques required up to 48 hours and the use of hazardous solvents. With SBSE, sample preparation became faster, safer, and solvent-free! Automated Workflow: The integration of the GERSTEL MPS 2–TDU–CIS4 system minimized manual labor through automation, streamlining the entire analysis process. Superior Analysis: LECO's Pegasus GCxGC-TOFMS provided exceptional resolution of analyte peaks, reduced coelutions, and enabled True Signal Deconvolution for accurate compound identification. The result? A faster, more efficient, and environmentally friendly method to study complex metabolites in biological samples. This case underscores the power of advanced analytical technologies in solving intriguing biochemical questions. Have you worked on similar studies or explored the applications of GCxGC-TOFMS in your research? I'd love to hear about your experiences in the comments below! #AsparagusEffect #Metabolomics #GCxGCTOFMS LECO IR Technology Services Pvt Ltd #AnalyticalChemistry #Innovation
