Relay For Life: Celebrating Hope, Awareness, and Action Cancer touches so many lives in our country. The Relay For Life (RFL) movement is a chance to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to fight cancer in our own capacities. Every year, more than 5000 RFL events take place across 29 countries. In India, the Indian Cancer Society (ICS) conducts Relay For Life events in collaboration with the **American Cancer Society. For the third year in a row, our RFL partner, Jain University School of Allied Healthcare and Sciences, hosted the ICS Relay For Life event to: ✅ Celebrate survivorship ✅ Spread cancer awareness ✅ Empower students to lead outreach activities We are incredibly grateful to our donor, IFF, for their support, which was instrumental in making this event a success. Shining a light on cancer: 🔹 Dr. Bharat Shankar, Surgical Oncologist, Vydehi Cancer Centre, emphasized the importance of lifestyle changes and screening when you are well. 🔹 Ramendra Kumar, a celebrated cancer survivor and award-winning author, inspired everyone with his storytelling and life-filled dancing. Spanning over four days, the event featured enthusiastic student participation in: Art | Writing | Cooking | Music | Dance | Skits | Event management | Awareness drives During the awareness walk, students raised cancer awareness slogans and distributed printed pamphlets to bystanders and small shopkeepers. Together, let’s continue to fight cancer, spread awareness, and celebrate life! #RelayForLife #CancerAwareness #IndianCancerSociety #FightCancerTogether #HopeAndHealing #Survivorship #RFLIndia #ICS #icsblr #indiancancersocietybangalore
