The conversation– focused on Navigating the Fintech Ecosystem: Fintech Innovations to Watch in 2025– highlighted transformative ideas for the payments and fintech ecosystem. Here are some key takeaways from Priyanka’s perspective: 𝗔 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 Priyanka emphasized the need to look beyond short-term milestones and prepare India’s financial institutions for a $10 trillion economy by 2040. Achieving this demands robust, India-first infrastructure—rails and systems built indigenously to support scale and complexity. She expressed confidence in India’s "perfect storm" of opportunity: world-class talent, foundational digital public infrastructure, and progressive policy. These factors uniquely position India to create global leaders in payments processing and financial technology. 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 While strengthening domestic institutions remains a priority, Priyanka highlighted the global opportunity for Indian fintech solutions. With many countries trailing India in infrastructure and policy by 3-5 years, this is India’s moment to step onto the global stage and export technology that’s already future-ready. 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 Priyanka challenged the often adversarial view of regulation within the fintech space. “Regulation isn’t an irritant; it’s an investment,” she noted, urging companies to adopt a long-term mindset. Time, resources, and a collaborative approach to regulation are essential for ensuring customer trust, institutional resilience, and long-term growth for the industry. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹-𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 Bridging the financial inclusion gap, Priyanka stressed, requires a combination of physical and digital strategies. Despite increasing internet penetration, many Indians remain hesitant to adopt digital payments. Solutions like Business Correspondents (BCs) and assisted payments are crucial in building trust.
