💺 🔍 Roses Are Red But Here Are Some Chairs Instead! 🔍💺 🕰 Through this event, EyeSpy displayed how throughout history, humans continually innovate ways to relax, evolving from sitting on the ground to crafting stone seats. 👁 It featured nine modernist furniture icons from the NID Collection at the KMC. 📌 Treasure Hunt @ the KMC 🧠 What better way for the community to discover hidden knowledge at NID than to actually participate in a treasure hunt?! 📣 Almost a year ago in July 2023, EyeSpy was introduced to the NID community through an immersive hunt for knowledge. Participants engaged in a three-day treasure hunt across campus that had clues within the campus. For the finale, participants were led to the KMC where they discovered an impressive display of design prototypes and artifacts, all of which live at KMC! 💥 The session enabled the young designers of NID Ahmedabad to interact with classic designs in history like Philippe Starck’s Juicer, Dyson’s Vacuum cleaner, Teenage Engineering’s Synthesizers and more! 👋 It initiated hands-on exploration - fostering collaboration and excitement, with EyeSpy badges awarded as tokens of appreciation. 🏢 Type of Event: Expo Dates: Jul 25, 2023 - Jul 28, 2023 Venue: NID Campus, KMC 🙌 Event organised by Aayush Mahale, AMULYA VIJAY DESHMUKH, Ahan Sahu, Cyril M, Razeen Mohammed, and Suhani Chheda!

There’s a reason why the Knowledge Management Centre at the National Institute of Design is not called a library. The KMC houses not only books, but also Prototypes, Board Games, Student Graduation Projects, Rare Textile pieces & Manuscripts, Audio & Video Tapes, Cassettes, Magazines and so much more! Introducing EyeSpy! What is EyeSpy? EyeSpy is a fresh student initiative to enable the NID community to interact more with the Knowledge Management Centre at NID, Ahmedabad and its resources. It’s called the KMC Curatorial Club! Why did it start? A group of 6 seniors came together and decided they wanted to gain a lot more from the KMC. Each of the founding members had a selfish motive behind joining EyeSpy - ranging from starting conversations, accessing gatekept resources, or just the joy of playing board games. These selfish motives came together to form EyeSpy - the KMC Curatorial Club, which was created for the community. There is so much hidden knowledge at the KMC that students don’t know about! EyeSpy bridges the gap between these design resources and students. What does EyeSpy do? We carefully curate resources from the KMC and bring them out to the NID community through interactive displays, exhibitions, student-led workshops, faculty talks and community activities! EyeSpy's Manifesto: A detailed manifesto was made by the founding members and the future generations of EyeSpy are inspired to live by it! The vision of EyeSpy is to decentralize, delocalise, and democratize information while making physical and cognitive space for this information. We aim to be inspirational, innovative and introductory - an initial gateway to any topic at hand. EyeSpy strives to be interdisciplinary because we see disciplines as not estranged, but entangled with one another. Lastly, we aim to illuminate; in order to make knowledge accessible, light must be shed on it appropriately. EyeSpy would not have been possible without the efforts of Aayush Mahale, Ahan S, AMULYA VIJAY DESHMUKH, Cyril M, Suhani Chheda, Razeen Mohammed, Vidit Jain, Rohit Paranjape, Javed Ali and Sahil Thappa.
