We are pleased to receive the Gold Icon Award at DIA 2022. The award was conferred by the Hon’ble President of India Smt. Draupadi Murmu in the presence of the Hon’ble Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications Ashwini Vaishnaw ITE&C Department and Agriculture Depatment along with Krishitantra have built a completely automated portable soil testing solution named Krishi RASTAA- Rapid Automated Soil Testing with Agronomy Advisory. Krishi RASTAA provides soil reports to farmers in 30 minutes and issues advisories to farmers on the optimum use of fertilizers and micronutrients. These reports and advisories are made available in 3 languages – Telugu, English and Hindi. This project was executed by Krishitantra under the guidance and mentorship of ICAR IIRR. The soil advisory analysis done under this project facilitates efficient use of farming inputs thus increasing production and income while lowering soil degradation. It helps the farmers to reduce input use by helping with the right quantity of nutrients. This ultimately decreases water consumption, unnecessary fertilizer use, soil degradation and water contamination. These sessions explored practical AI applications for the Indian market, empowering businesses to innovate and streamline processes across industries. The OpenAI team was represented by Mr. Atty Eleti, Member of Technical Staff, and Ms. Pragya M, Head of Policy and Partnerships, while the Nasscom team was represented by Mr. Praveen Mokkapati. A separate session was also organized for the government officials of various departments with industry partner OpenAI. The discussions focused on leveraging AI to enhance #citizen service delivery and drive impactful public service solutions, further cementing Telangana’s commitment to harnessing cutting-edge technology for governance. Institutional loans upto ₹1 lakh are now processed in 2 days instead of weeks, thanks to Agricultural Data Exchange (ADeX)’s integration with HDFC Bank. ✅ AI-Driven substance use Assessments: The Mitra-TG application, developed with the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau, uses AI to assist parents and teachers in identifying early signs of substance abuse. Exploring AI Usecases to improve governance: Yesterday, the Government of Telangana, in collaboration with Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), successfully concluded a workshop aimed at unlocking the potential of #ArtificialIntelligence in governance and public service delivery. This engaging session brought together the AI #NodalOfficers from 21 departments to reimagine how AI can address critical challenges in their respective domains. Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), a global research center dedicated to reducing poverty through evidence-based policy, is renowned for its expertise in #ImpactEvaluation and leveraging data-driven approaches to tackle complex #SocialChallenges. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team from J-PAL – Aditi Namdeo, Aditya Naskar, Rajesh, and Murali Mallikarjunan – who flew down to deliver a thought-provoking presentation and facilitate the workshop. Their expertise and insights were truly invaluable. The session also highlighted the various AI initiatives being rolled out by the Telangana Government, setting the stage for deeper engagement.
