🌍 International Day of Persons with Disabilities 🌍 Famous dyslexic inventors have built the foundations of key sectors—Aviation & Automobile, IT, Telecom, Media & Entertainment. Their leadership has driven global innovation and transformed the way we live, work, and connect. Did you know that 40% of the world’s self-made billionaires have dyslexia? Their success reminds us that dyslexia is not just a limitation—it’s also a different way of thinking that fuels innovation. But for every success story, there are countless individuals with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLDs) still struggling to be seen, heard, and supported. It’s time to shift our focus: ✅ Support the challenges individuals with SLDs face. ✅ Nurture their strengths to unlock their full potential. ✅ Enable leadership that drives inclusive, sustainable innovation for the future. Individuals with SLDs have the ability to lead and innovate. It's time to create a world where diversity in thinking is celebrated and nurtured. 💡 A world without their brilliance? We can’t imajin it! #InternationalDisabilityDay #Dyslexia #InclusiveLeadership #Innovation #UnlockPotential #SLD #Act4Dyslexia #FutureReady

As we celebrate Education Day, we reflect on the future workforce and the kind of education we need to shape it. With more and more companies embracing neurodiversity, it’s clear that skills like #DyslexicThinking—creativity, big-picture thinking, and unique problem-solving abilities—are not just valuable but essential. But here’s the reality: we cannot meet our education and workforce goals if nearly 20% of our population is left behind. This prompts an important question: Who are we unintentionally excluding, and what opportunities are we losing in the process? When we don’t provide inclusive education, we risk pushing those with # learningdisabilities into #learningpoverty. Dr Obijiofor Aginam, Director at UNESCO MGIEP, and our founder, Noopur Jhunjhunwala, in their op-ed in the Hindustan Times, #Act4Dyslexia: Today for Tomorrow’s Competitive Workforce, explore the opportunities and risks of leaving 20% of our population behind. In 2016, India’s Parliament made history by passing the groundbreaking Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, signed by the Hon’ble Rashtrapati, officially recognizing #SpecificLearningDisabilities (SLDs) for the very first time. Fast forward to October 27, 2024, during #DyslexiaAwarenessMonth, when the heart of our democracy—#RashtrapatiBhawan, #NorthBlock & #SouthBlock, #Parliament, and the iconic #IndiaGate—lit up in red, casting light on these invisible disabilities. This bold initiative, part of the nationwide #Act4Dyslexia campaign led by ChangeInkk & UNESCO MGIEP in collaboration with the Government of India, aims to ensure that the estimated 200 million Indians with learning disabilities are no longer hidden in the shadows but are finally seen, supported, and empowered. For the first time ever, this effort reached far beyond the capital city. State Governments joined hands in this monumental movement, illuminating landmarks in cities including #Patna, #Ranchi, #Jaipur, #Kohima, #Shimla, and #Mumbai in red—a beacon of hope for millions. With #learningdisabilities affecting 20% of India’s population, including an estimated 35 million students, this campaign is not just a step forward but a resounding call to end stigma, ignite understanding, and inspire action. #GoRedForDyslexia #SeeTheInvisible #InclusiveIndia #BreakTheSilence #LearningDisabilityAwareness #DyslexiaAwareness #InclusioninAction #SLDAwareness #InnovationThroughInclusion #GreatMindsInspire #UnderstandingSLDs #ChangeInkk #EquityForAll #DyslexiaAwareness #FoundersSpotlight #InclusiveEcosystem #InclusiveEducation #AssistiveTech Homage The Convergence Foundation Aditya Ghosh Debjani Ghosh Tanmoy Chakrabarty Neeraj Roy Radhika Bharat Ram

Today, we gathered in the heart of Delhi for the #Walk4Dyslexia on #KartavyaPathDelh. This event was more than just a walk—it was a powerful step toward #Act4Dyslexia and a collective call to create systemic changes that help all learners thrive. Together, we’re building a world that celebrates and supports every child, ensuring no one is left behind. 💙✨ In the words of our Chief Guest Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities: "#Act4Dyslexia is a well-thought campaign, as we need to take action to make progress. I’m happy to see the growth from last year’s campaign, with over 1,600 walks across the country and over 4 lakh people participating this year. I’m also happy to learn about the introduction of the Purple Flame Chatbot, which will help schools, teachers, doctors, and other stakeholders to diagnose and support people with learning disabilities. The Government looks forward to working with like-minded organizations that support people with learning disabilities and ensure access to equal opportunities for growth and development." Mr. Shombi Sharp, UN Resident Coordinator in India, representing the UN Secretary-General, shared his perspective: "On behalf of the UN in India and representing the UN Secretary-General, it’s my great honor to support Dyslexia Awareness Month and the #Act4Dyslexia campaign with ChangeInkk, supported by UNESCO MGIEP and other organizations. We walked across the Kartavya Path to India Gate to raise awareness on the importance of the rights of people with learning disabilities. It is incredible to see that when given equal opportunities, individuals with learning disabilities have achieved great success, including becoming inventors, Nobel laureates, and entrepreneurs. We need to truly unleash the potential of this talent for societal development, and if India can achieve this, it can deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals at a global level." A big thanks to our partner organisations - SOCH Foundation, Orkids Foundation and the 300+ participants who gathered with us to make this happen! Let’s keep this momentum going and continue to #Act4Dyslexia in all the ways we’ve shared throughout the month—from spreading awareness to making classrooms more inclusive. Stay tuned as we carry this conversation forward and work toward a brighter, more inclusive future for all! Unlock the $13 Trillion Opportunity: Why #Accessibility is Your Boldest Business Move! The global disability-inclusive market is worth $13 trillion yet remains largely untapped. In India alone, over 200 million people have #learningdisabilities. Accessibility isn’t just ethical; it’s a strategic driver of growth and competitiveness. 1️⃣ The Business Proposition: Accessible design isn’t just compliance—it’s a profit multiplier. Companies that embrace it see up to 28% revenue growth and 2x higher profits. With 87% of consumers favoring accessible brands and 71% gaining competitive advantages from inclusion, it’s clear that tapping into this “invisible” market boosts both engagement and loyalty. 2️⃣ The Legal Imperative: Global regulations demand accessibility: • Americans with Disabilities Act (#ADA) and 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA) require digital accessibility. • European Accessibility Act (#EAA) mandates accessible tech in the EU by 2025. • India’s Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act (RPWD) 2016 enforces accessibility across education and employment. Ignoring these regulations risks fines, lawsuits, and market barriers. But integrating accessibility enhances brand credibility and global reach. 3️⃣ Meeting Market Needs: Businesses must address holistic needs of users with #learningdisabilities and other #neurodivergent conditions: • Develop screening and identification tools for early detection. • Create remedial support products that provide personalized learning pathways and accommodations. • Design solutions that enhance the quality of life across education, employment, entertainment, and social interaction. • Improve access to services like health, government services, employment, therapy, rehabilitation, and other essential resources 4️⃣ Role of AI & Emerging Tech: #AI is transforming accessibility. It enables personalized learning, user-friendly interactions, and real-time solutions through AR/VR. AI analytics help identify gaps, driving continuous improvement. At Changeinkk, we’re driving #AccessibleAI through collaborations with CoRover and the launch of AskPurpleFlame AI chatbot -www.changeinkk.org/ask as the first step. Our #Hackathon with EkStep Foundation, People+ai and Bachpan Manao invited young innovators to create accessible video solutions for persons with learning disabilities. Final Thought: Accessibility should be standard, not an afterthought. Many everyday tools—like audiobooks and spell check—originated as aids for disabilities. Let’s make inclusion a core strategy, unlocking growth while creating a better world. Its time to #Act4Dyslexia today! #InclusiveDesign #AccessibilityMatters #DisabilityInclusion #DesignForAll #Neurodiversity #DigitalInclusion #AssistiveTech #UniversalDesign #InclusiveBusiness #InnovationForAll #ResponsibleAI #IndiaAI #ICT4D #Inclusion4Innovation
Accessibility allows us to tap into everyone’s potential. Earlier this year, we hosted an event called Hack-a-Change. People gathered to find innovative ways to make video learning more accessible to neurodivergent audiences. It's International Dyslexia Awareness month and we've got a long way to go in making accessibility mainstream, but every effort counts. https://lnkd.in/dMYGbNTM #Act4Dyslexia #Inclusion4Innovation ChangeInkk Foundation EkStep Foundation Bachpan Manao Devfolio

The future of work isn’t just digital—it’s human. By 2027, Gartner predicts 25% of #Fortune500 companies will actively recruit neurodiverse talent, including individuals with #LearningDisabilities like #dyslexia, #dyscalculia, and #dyspraxia. Why? Because #dyslexicthinking drives creativity, innovation, and resilience. Embracing this talent is not just about diversity—it’s a smart business move. 💡 The Economic Upside Integrating neurodivergent talent isn’t just ethical; it’s profitable. Ernst & Young estimates that increasing inclusion could boost global GDP by 1.2%. Their unique skills, such as creative problem-solving and visual thinking, are essential in today’s complex markets. Boston Consulting Group (BCG) indicates that ignoring dyslexia alone could cost California $1 trillion over 60 years. 💡 The Business Case: Why Invest in Neurodiversity? Neurodiverse teams drive faster innovation, solve complex problems efficiently, and adapt better to change. Supporting neurodiversity boosts brand loyalty, attracting talent and strengthening customer trust. The return on investment is clear—better problem-solving, more innovation, and increased resilience. 📣How to #Act4Dyslexia: Practical Steps for Inclusion that businesses can adopt. ✅Workforce Inclusion - Attract New Talent: Tailor hiring processes to welcome neurodiverse candidates at all levels. Ensure onboarding celebrates strengths and breaks stereotypes. - Support Current Employees: Move beyond accommodations. Create a flexible culture where diverse work styles are embraced, enabling those with SLDs to lead. - Create Safe Spaces: Many employees hide their SLDs due to stigma. Build trust through open dialogue and voluntary disclosure, ensuring support for diverse needs. - Support Caregivers: Many caregivers, especially mothers, often exit the workforce due to lack of support. Offer flexible policies to retain this critical talent. ✅Expand Inclusion Beyond the Workforce - Procurement: Engage with diverse suppliers, promoting inclusion throughout the supply chain. - Product Design: Integrate inclusive design to serve diverse needs and foster broader social impact. - Community Engagement: Leverage organizational influence to promote inclusion through campaigns, partnerships, and advocacy. 💡 The Call to Action It’s time for #IndustryLeaders to take a holistic look on how they can #Act4Dyslexia- build workplaces and adopt business practices that thrive on differences.
