It was an honor to attend the CAHO South Zone Conference hosted at ASTER MEDCITY, Cochin. The event began with a thought-provoking inaugural address by Shri.Mohammed Hanish IAS, inspiring all of us to drive quality and safety in healthcare. The day continued with a series of enlightening sessions that deepened our understanding of the intersection between quality, safety, and financial performance. One of the highlights for me was moderating the panel discussion on "The Financial Impact of Quality & Safety" alongside Fr.Johnson Vazhappilly. Our esteemed panelists— Venkata Phanidhar, Adel J, and Renjith Krishnan —shared invaluable perspectives on: - How quality and safety initiatives can drive cost savings - The role of value-based care models in enhancing financial performance - The economic benefits of prioritizing quality in healthcare delivery The discussions reinforced the critical link between quality care and financial sustainability, highlighting that investing in quality and safety is not just the right thing to do but also a smart financial decision.
