Similarly, for Odisha, the 2nd installment of ₹370.20 crore, along with ₹84.51 Cr of the 1st installment, will be distributed to 6,794 Gram Panchayats, 314 Block Panchayats, and 30 District Panchayats. These grants will be used for vital development initiatives, such as: → Sanitation and ODF management → Water supply, rainwater harvesting, and water recycling This financial assistance is a step towards empowering Panchayati Raj Institutions and fostering self-reliance in rural communities. By improving the governance mechanisms at the grassroots level, India is ensuring the true spirit of democracy flourishes at every village, panchayat, and district. Through these strategic financial interventions, the government is reinforcing its commitment to sustainable rural development and enhancing the effectiveness of local governance.

The Government has released the 2nd installment of XV Finance Commission Grants for Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh during the Financial Year 2024–25. Uttar Pradesh received ₹1598.80 crores for 75 District Panchayats, 826 Block Panchayats, and 57,691 Gram Panchayats. Andhra Pradesh received ₹446.49 crores, including ₹25.49 crores of withheld funds, benefiting 13 District Panchayats, 650 Block Panchayats, and 13,097 Gram Panchayats. These Untied Grants empower Panchayati Raj Institutions to address location-specific needs, fostering self-reliance and accountability. The grants can be used for diverse initiatives like sanitation, drinking water supply, and rainwater harvesting. These grants are driving inclusive growth and strengthening India’s grassroots democracy. By enabling villages to shape their own development, the initiative supports the nation’s journey toward Viksit Bharat, where every village contributes to India’s prosperity.
