This December, Reach Surgical hosted two highly impactful sessions of the Uniportal Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (uVATS) in Germany, led by world-renowned thoracic surgeon Dr. Diego Gonzalez Rivas. The sessions, held on December 3–4 at Klinikum Bielefeld and December 9–10 at Malteser Krankenhaus St. Franziskus-Hospital in Flensburg, brought together surgeons from across the region. Dr. Diego Gonzalez Rivas delivered a comprehensive program that combined in-depth theoretical lectures with live surgical demonstrations of uVATS techniques. Participants gained valuable insights into his advanced surgical techniques and experienced firsthand the precision and performance of Reach Surgical’s cutting-edge instruments, such as iReach Magnum and Omnia powered staplers, and Sound Reach Ultrasonic Shears. We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the UVATS/RATS Masterclass program, which took place from November 22th-23th in the vibrant city of Lisbon, Portugal. This event marked another significant chapter in the ongoing collaboration between Reach Surgical and UMCIS Academy, underscoring our shared dedication to advancing surgical training and innovation.   The program brought together 19 distinguished surgeons from Belgium, Germany, Italy, Hong Kong and other regions, offering them an unparalleled opportunity to deepen their expertise. Led by esteemed expert Prof. Dr.Diego Gonzalez Rivas and Prof. Dr.Javier Gallego Poveda, MD, PhD, FETCS, FACS, FESC, the course provided a rich learning experience.   Over the course of two intensive days, attendees engaged in a balanced mix of theoretical learning, live surgical observations, and hands-on practice. Participants were able to witness live surgeries at Hospital Lusíadas Lisboa and immediately apply their insights in the cadaver lab, working with some of Reach Surgical's most advanced products. This practical exposure proved invaluable in enhancing their skills and refining their techniques.   A key highlight of the program was the opportunity to use Reach Surgical’s latest instruments, including the iReach Magnum powered stapler with its advanced 55-degree articulation and powerful compression force, the iReach Omnia with its 30mm reload designed specifically for vessel sealing, and the innovative Sound Reach SR7 ultrasonic shears, which are capable of sealing vessels up to 7mm. The second day highlighted the technical prowess of our portfolio with live surgery demonstrations held in the state-of-the-art clinical laboratory at the Genesis Innovation Center. We were honored to invite Dr. Zhicheng He, Associate Chief Physician and Postdoctoral Fellow from the Thoracic Surgery Department of Jiangsu Province Hospital, to perform an apical lobectomy using products of our comprehensive surgical portfolio. This led on to the much-anticipated  surgery featuring the debut of OMNIBOT, our innovative multi-portal surgical robot solution. OMNIBOT is equipped with four robotic arms, each with seven degrees of freedom, allowing for a broad range of motion in port placement and docking. This design ensures natural dexterity, accommodating various procedural requirements. In our afternoon sessions, representatives from each company engaged in meaningful conversations with our R&D team, fostering valuable discussions that will shape future product advancements in line with evolving needs. As we conclude this event, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our guests who travelled long distances from around the world to join us. This year’s theme, “Connect, Innovate, Inspire, and Grow,” aimed to enhance communication and collaboration between Reach and its longstanding partners. The event took place at the Genesis Innovation Center in Wuxi, where Warren Wang, CEO of Genesis, delivered an inspiring keynote speech highlighting the origins, values, and mission of Genesis Medtech. Mr. John Molyneux, Factory Manager of GIC, outlined the rigorous processes in place to maintain the highest quality standards. Following this, Mr. Eric Li, Head of International Business, presented on how Reach Surgical is positioning itself for the future. The morning session concluded with a captivating pipeline review from Mr. Shan Wan, CTO of Genesis, leaving guests inspired and eager for what lies ahead.
