New findings challenge decades-old beliefs about cancer growth.🧬 In new research, scientists reveal tumors grow uniformly throughout their mass, not just at the edges. This discovery uncovers a constant churn of cell activity across the tumor, creating more opportunities for mutations that drive cancer progression and therapy resistance. “We challenge the idea that a tumor is a ‘two-speed’ entity with rapidly dividing cells on the surface and slower activity in the core.
