In 2023, Healing Gardens, a two-acre park at Cone Health Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina, became not just a haven for patients but also a means to give back. Arch Mortgage Insurance Company (Arch MI) employees, have consistently volunteered in the gardens to help with their upkeep. The Healing Gardens have also bene the recipient of an Arch Group Foundation grant which has allowed the gardens to expand their therapeutic horticulture programs for patients and families and to add retreats. Led by a volunteer who is also a social worker with Cone Health Cancer Center’s Patient and Family Support, Healing Gardens’ therapeutic horticulture programs take patients out into the gardens to experience the healing power of nature.

During 2023, we activated a supplier diversity program to provide vendor opportunities for qualified businesses owned by people of diverse backgrounds. Overall, Arch strives to engage with suppliers that align with our values, ethics and ESG standards. Our commitment to broadening opportunities for businesses owned by historically underrepresented groups is reflected in our supplier diversity program. We are dedicated to enabling an innovative and inclusive supply chain that prioritizes competitive sourcing and selection while generating long-term value for our customers, employees and communities. Over the past few years, we've educated and trained our teams on sourcing diverse suppliers, and provided access to a directory of millions of globally registered and certified businesses. Our teams worldwide recognize the advantages of sourcing from underrepresented groups and expanding our network of qualified suppliers. In 2024, we have committed to promoting internal awareness of the program through regular discussions, education and training. 

In November, Arch’s senior leaders from Finance, Risk, Actuarial and Human Resources came together for their annual Corporate Collaboration Conference. The event featured a packed agenda, including daily general sessions, focused team breakout discussions and combined team-building activities.   The conference also incorporated a charitable initiative, with attendees contributing toys, games and other essential items to support the Child Life Program at the Medical University of South Carolina Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.  

Arch's EVP, Financial Services Don Watson presented at Morgan Stanley's P&C Fixed Income Conference yesterday in New York. During which, he discussed the near-term outlook for each of Arch's business segments and gave his thoughts on both cycle management and pricing for the businesses.
