The Armenian Bioinformatics Institute (ABI) is a bioinformatics research institute focused on the development and application of computational data analysis methods to human, plant, and bacterial genomics. Our mission is to bridge the gap in human resources in genomics and bioinformatics through research and training to nurture the next generation of scientific leaders. We also collaborate with the biotech industry and support life science research in Armenia acting as a bioinformatics core. Dr. Hans Binder took part in a two-day symposium, "Advances in Epigenetics and Biotechnology," held at Russian - Armenian University (RAU) from December 16 to 17, 2024. He shared his expertise in bioinformatics. His presentation focused on how combining different -omics data modalities can help improve our understanding of diseases. 🧬💻 The symposium gathered participants from a variety of top universities and institutions across several countries, including Russia, Armenia, Germany, and the United States. These participants, including researchers from Leipzig University, Southern Federal University, Saarland University, and more, shared their work on epigenetics, cancer therapies, gene editing, and more.🌍

Big news! The Armenian Bioinformatics Institute has secured a $40,000 grant from the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation as part of a project totaling over $100,000 to renovate a space at the Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB) NAS RA, transforming it into a modern research and training facility. 🎉 This facility is designed to promote collaboration and innovation, enhance ABI's training programs, and strengthen bilateral collaborations with IMB. 🧬 It will also provide a welcoming space for international guests, partners, and interns. 🌍 A huge thank you to the H.
