GMRP23 Polyethylene Grade is a versatile recycled material designed to serve a wide range of applications, including both LDPE and LLDPE uses. With an MFI range of 0.3 to 1.0 (190ºC / 2.16kg) and a density of 0.93 g/cm³, GMRP23 offers excellent processability and flexibility. It's close to natural colour and filler-free composition make it ideal for applications requiring purity and consistency. Suitable for light-duty films, general-purpose moulding, or sheeting, GMRP23 provides a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to more expensive virgin materials without compromising on performance.

GMRP24 PE-Film Grade is a high-quality recycled polyethylene material specifically designed for film applications. With a melt flow index (MFI) ranging from 0.3 to 1.3 (190ºC / 2.16kg), it offers excellent processability and consistent performance in extrusion processes. Featuring 3% filler content and a density of 0.95 g/cm³, this material provides a reliable balance of strength and flexibility, ideal for various film production needs. Available in black, GMRP24 is an eco-friendly choice that supports sustainable practices while maintaining superior quality standards.

The Plastics Industry and the Promise of Recycling: A Response to Environmental and Legal Challenges In the 1980s, the plastics industry faced mounting environmental backlash and legal threats as the detrimental impact of plastic waste on ecosystems became increasingly evident. In response, the industry is argued to have initiated a campaign aimed at promoting the promise of plastic recycling. Central to this strategy was the introduction of familiar recycling symbols featuring numbers within them. While these symbols became ubiquitous, they often conveyed an overpromising message about the recyclability of various plastics, leading to widespread misconceptions. This approach, as highlighted by the Center for Climate Integrity (2024), shaped public perception of plastic waste management, even as recycling systems struggled to effectively process the vast array of plastic materials.

As we embark on the journey to transform Oman’s plastic waste into an economic asset, we encounter numerous opportunities and challenges, which this article seeks to explore in depth.
