Delhi reported its first case of Covid-19 sub-variant JN.1 in December last year. As per officials, there are hardly any symptoms and the patients were recovering within two to three days.
India reported a single-day rise of 605 Covid-19 cases and four deaths, while the active caseload declined to 4,002. Since December 5 last year, Covid-19 cases have been rising due to the emergence of JN.1 sub-variant and cold weather conditions.
India on Sunday recorded 756 fresh Covid-19 cases and five deaths while the active tally further dipped to 4,049, according to the Union Health Ministry. So far, 619 cases of coronavirus JN.1 sub-variant have been reported.
Health authorities in Maharashtra directed individuals returning from holiday travels to isolate themselves for five days, with mandatory testing for Covid if symptoms like fever or cold develop.
