In recent days we have been helping grapevine and home mail customers change their email addresses to iCloud or Gmail.
If we haven’t helped you yet, I hope you are on the list as time is running out and slots are filling fast.
During the many users we have done, one thing has cropped up and that is most of these email addresses are actually the username of Apple ID/iCloud as well.
As it happens, this is not really an issue as even an old email addresses that hasn’t been used in many years can still be your AppleID username. However, in the interests of neatness and in the spirit of a fresh start, perhaps changing your AppleID username to reflect your new email address might not be a bad thing.
Fortunately it is easy. So, lets…
Open a web browser (Safari, Firefox) and go to appleid.apple.com and log in using your Mac password or Apple ID password.
Once here, click on the AppleID section and type in your new email address
Click on Change AppleID
When you get back to the main page, click on the Notification email section.
If this email is your old grapevine email, then click on Change Email, type in your new email address and click on Continue.
You can now log out of the AppleID website and in a few moments all your devices will reflect the new user name.
