As a trusted community pharmacy, Walgreens is a critical partner in the fight against HIV and AIDS. For World AIDS Day, we’re sharing some stats from our annual National HIV Testing Day Event, which we’ve hosted for 14 years in partnership with KFF's Greater Than HIV initiative and community testing partners. ➡️ This year’s event was the largest in the program’s history with testing at more than 500 Walgreens stores in 45 states including Puerto Rico and Washington, DC. ➡️ More than 93,000 free rapid tests, including 15,000 HIV self-tests, have been provided since 2011 as part of the Greater Than HIV/Walgreens partnership. ➡️ More than 3,000 Walgreens pharmacists are specially trained to offer one-on-one, confidential and stigma-free HIV care including medication counseling, information on prevention options and how to apply for financial assistance programs. ➡️ For these efforts, Walgreens was recently recognized during the Health Action Alliance’s U.S. Business Action to End HIV annual meeting of business, government and public health leaders to collaborate on strategies to end HIV in our nation and celebrate achievements. #WorldAIDSDay #HIVTesting #NationalHIVTestingDay #EndHIV #USBusinessActionToEndHIV
