Interesting discussions with Baker Tilly colleagues about what to focus on to #attract #talent. I am at the world conference here in Vienna. There is consensus about a reduction in college students pursuing #accounting - globally. Giving people a broader education, e.g. in sharpening their #digital #skills, and scholarship options seem to be attracting. For me #hiring talent is not easy but retaining talent is a whole different thing. Shall we consider more market compensation or bonus schemes? Or shall we free up professionals’ time to focus on more value adding and client-facing work? A strong retention culture to me means connectivity that is actually not scripted but inspired by how we treat each other every day.
