During the pandemic, I made a sticker for all of my businesses to post. It said “Vitamin D passport accepted“ and provided a discount for those who could prove their vitamin D levels were above 70. It was obvious. 🤷♂️
If you don’t know your vitamin levels, the general rule that I’ve been following for the past 15 years comes from the vitamin D research council, which recommends 1000 IU of vitamin D3 per 25 pounds of body weight.
However, you really want to get your levels tested because genetic variations in the VDR gene can mean that you require much more vitamin D. For example, with my genetics, I need three times the “normal“ dose.
The current recommended daily allowance of vitamin D3 is a shockingly inadequate 400 IU.
