Roundtable: Strategies to Reduce Compressed Air System Energy Consumption Compressed air is often considered the "4th utility" in manufacturing, and can consume 30% or more of your plant's energy budget. This Plant Services roundtable discussion brings together three experts from the Compressed Air Challenge to discuss options for reducing the energy consumption of your compressed air system. Joining the discussion will be Gopalakrishnan Bhaskaran, Ron Marshall, and Paul Shaw.

Valuable advice from Plant Services columnist Jeff Shiver.
Practitioner guiding leaders to make plant reliability your success | Assessment | Strategic Plan | Implementation | Planning & Scheduling | Storerooms | RCM2 & 3 | PMO | Reliability Engineering | RCA | Leadership |
How to dramatically reduce maintenance costs in 10 minutes a day: - Walk your critical equipment assets with one or more technicians - Document the likely failure modes you see - Compare against your current PMs - Flag any PM that doesn't address these failure modes Do this for 30 days, one asset area at a time. With three cartoners in one plant, we eliminated 1,100 unnecessary PMs that were issued across the year. Think about it: 40-60% of your PMs add zero value. That's time your technicians could spend on work that actually prevents failures. One plant saved $1.2M in their first year just by focusing maintenance efforts on the right things. Precision maintenance isn't complicated - it's about doing the right work, the right way, at the right time.
