🌿 IFF Takes the Lead on Bioeconomy at COP29! 🌿 At COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, IFF partnered with the University of Cambridge and global organizations like the World Trade Organization (WTO) to champion the future of the bioeconomy. Our Global Trade Director, Mayra Souza, co-hosted an impactful session during the Climate Law and Governance Day with the University of Cambridge, featuring Nobel Laureate Professor Emilio Lèbre La Rovere. The session highlighted the need to harmonize climate and trade policies for sustainable progress. So that for IFF, we can have an improved regulatory environment and market access to commercialize innovative offerings such as IFF‘s biosciences solutions. In a second pivotal panel, IFF led a session at the Trade and Investment House pavilion co-hosted by the WTO, UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the International Trade Centre (ITC), featuring H.E. Stuart Horne, New Zealand Climate Change Ambassador. This discussion explored how the bioeconomy and bio-based innovations, like IFF’s DEBs, drive sustainability and support circular economies. Mayra stressed the importance for global trade policies to incorporate modern biotechnology considerations, ensuring that IFF solutions can cross borders with a reduced regulatory burden. She offered key recommendations for integration. A huge thank you to Mayra for driving these transformative discussions! #IFF #COP29 #BioscienceforLife #Sustainability #ThoughtLeadership
