We are delighted to have advised Equinor on combining the Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon offshore wind farm extension projects in the UK as single project under a new joint ownership structure. The joint ownership structure is set to power nearly 1.5 million UK homes, with a total of 719 MW of offshore wind capacity, driving significant economic benefits and contributing to the #EnergyTransition. Lead Partner, Jason Lovell, comments: “Happy to support Equinor and its partners in this innovative approach to combining the Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon Extension Projects. The joint development of the project is a win-win as the simpler model will derisk development for generation and transmission, support the UK’s 2030 offshore wind targets and minimise environmental and local impact”. Congratulations to the energy team involved: Jason Lovell Julia Woodward-Carlton, Alan Cook, Simon Davies, Richard Streeter, Jennifer Evans, Julia Gawecka, Pawel Chmiel and Alexander Wong. #OffshoreWind

As clients of Eversheds Sutherland, they reference our firm’s strategic role – including the leadership of Partner Herbert Short and our larger Energy team – in their signing of long-term power purchase agreements with plant owner Holtec International, which are necessary for the plant’s recommissioning.
