Here's a recap of the memorable moments from the G7 6th Annual Conference, held in Phuket, Thailand. This conference marked a special milestone for us as it was our first meeting with the new management and many new members. We had an impressive attendance of over 137+ freight forwarders from around the globe.
The registration kicked off with a vibrant showcase of traditional Thai performance art for an immersive cultural experience.
Dressed in colorful outfits, delegates from around the world gathered for a memorable welcome cocktail party. G7N delegates seized the opportunity to network and forge meaningful connections during the Songkran Thai New Year-themed event.
The heart of the event, 1:1 Meetings, provided a platform for fruitful connections and collaborations among 137+ freight forwarders across the globe.
The swim-up meetings provided a refreshing setting for over 137+ freight forwarders to connect and collaborate.
The G7N Beach Volleyball added a fun element to the conference, with freight forwarders friendly games in Beach Volleyball.
Delegates who chose to join the City Tour enjoyed exploring the scenic beauty and history of the big buddha and Phuket town! It was indeed a delightful experience.
With full energy, delegates had a blast during the G7N Gala Dinner with a Tropical Surf theme.

Moving forward with our Industry topic: Navigating Singapore Port's Container Backlog: Challenges and Solutions
In recent months, the Singapore Port has encountered significant challenges in managing its container backlog, causing ripples throughout the shipping industry. As a vital hub for global trade, understanding the root causes and solutions to this issue is crucial for all of us in the forwarding community.
A recent article from Must Share News highlights the severity of the situation, noting how shipping delays have become a pervasive issue affecting not only Singapore but also ports across Asia. Carriers have been forced to omit Singapore calls due to mounting delays caused by port congestion, as reported by the Journal of Commerce. This congestion is a result of various factors, including increased shipping demand, vessel bunching, and labor shortages exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite these challenges, Singapore Port is actively responding to the crisis. Channel News Asia reports on the port's efforts to mitigate delays through innovative solutions and strategic partnerships. Singapore's Minister for Transport, S. Iswaran, emphasizes the importance of collaboration between stakeholders to address the root causes of congestion and ensure the smooth flow of goods.
As forwarders, it's essential for us to stay informed about these developments and adapt our strategies accordingly. The delays in Singapore Port have ripple effects on supply chains worldwide, impacting our ability to meet client demands and deliver goods efficiently.
In response to these challenges, it's imperative that we work closely with our partners to explore alternative routes, optimize shipment schedules, and leverage technology to streamline operations. By staying proactive and adaptive, we can navigate through these turbulent waters and continue to provide reliable and efficient freight forwarding services to our clients.

Our director - Melvin Xavier was happy to host our members Cargo Movers GmbH (David Borgmann, Marcel Macke and Tiffany Lu) and Galaxy Freight Pvt. Ltd. (Fardeen Malbarwala) in the beautiful city of Dubai. They discussed opportunities for growth at G7N in today’s challenging global economic situation.
Nils Walle, our CEO charting new paths with AL.MO Logistic (Mr. Gian Luca Morelli and Mr. Elvis Allbani), METAKOR LOGISTICS (Mr. Jaebong Lyu), Qualitair&sea Turkey (Mr. Hakan Kucukdagilkan), Dart Global Logistics (Mr. Kithsiri Liyanage MBA (Cardiff, UK) and Mr. Dhanesh Kellapotha) and during a business trip in São Paulo, Brazil. Nils found great pleasure in numerous engaging discussions and productive meetings with both new and old connections.
It's wonderful to welcome our esteemed members Jernej Hribar, Aleks Klarić, and Žiga Petelinc from 2HM Logistics d.o.o., our G7 Networks, G7 Projects and G7 Critical members visiting us at our Bangkok office.
This day was extra special at our office as we had the pleasure of hosting Timucin Sindirgilioglu and Selink Cicek of Alpagu Lojistik Ve Diş Ticaret Ltd. Sti., esteemed members of the G7N family! Their visit was truly delightful, and they brought along a lovely gift that's sure to bring joy to our team.
