Turning It On and Off

Title: Rebooting Creativity: The Power of "Turning It On and Off Again" 🔄💡

Hey LinkedIn Creatives!

Sam, your creativity coach, here to share a simple yet powerful strategy for overcoming creative block: the art of "turning it on and off again." 🎨✨ Just like rebooting a computer can solve technical glitches, giving your mind a break and starting fresh can unblock creativity and ignite inspiration. Let's explore how!

The Creative Block Conundrum:

We've all been there – staring at a blank canvas or blinking cursor, feeling the weight of creative block pressing down on us. But here's the secret: sometimes, the best way to overcome it is to step away and give your mind a chance to reset.

The Power of "Turning It Off":

  1. Take a Break: When you hit a creative wall, don't force it. Instead, give yourself permission to take a break. Go for a walk, grab a cup of coffee, or simply close your eyes and breathe. Letting your mind wander can often lead to unexpected moments of clarity.

  2. Engage in Mindless Activities: Engaging in mindless activities like washing dishes, doodling, or taking a shower can actually stimulate creativity. These moments of relaxed focus allow your subconscious mind to work through ideas and make unexpected connections.

  3. Start Something New: If you're feeling stuck on a particular project, try starting something new. Experiment with a different medium, explore a new hobby, or tackle a completely unrelated task. Sometimes, shifting gears can reignite your creative spark.

The "Turning It On Again" Moment:

After giving yourself some time to recharge, it's time to "turn it on again" and dive back into your creative endeavors with renewed energy and fresh perspective. You'll be amazed at how a little break can lead to big breakthroughs!

The Creative Block Challenge:

Ready to reboot your creativity and unlock your full potential? This month, challenge yourself to embrace the power of "turning it on and off again." When you feel stuck, take a break, start something new, and watch as your creative block melts away. 🔄🎨

This was one of your better ones for sure. Applies to everyone in any role but certainly hit the mark with me!

I don't tend to find it too hard to 'Engage in mindless activities', or so my wife tells me. But you and I know that the jigsaw puzzles and playing Royal Match on my phone after hours is just about switching off to re-energise 😉
