Si Bristol Hub - Newsletter #8
Welcome to the Si Bristol Hub's eight newsletter. We began this newsletter as a tool for connecting and communicating across our memberships. Over time, we also have found it to be a useful reflection tools for tracking our learning and progress. Driving change in environments of complexity takes time and a consistent challenge is maintaining momentum and energy when the pace of work feels so slow. Tracking how much work goes into each step of a genuine change process has helped us maintain momentum and reminds us of how much we have achieved.
Since our last newsletter the Si Bristol Participation and Associate group have met and explored our role in hosting spaces to drive projects. We are delighted to share that Carl Quinn has offered to lead on launching a Si Bristol systems innovation surgery for all members to bring and explore their project ideas. More information on this coming soon!
As the Si Bristol Hub evolves and capacity becomes more stretched, the Si Bristol Hub Core Team are focussing our efforts on securing resources for some infrastructure capacity. We are excited to have received an offer of support from a fund-raising specialist who we are meeting on 20th September. Following this, we will develop and drive a fund-raising plan focussed on stabilizing our efforts.
Finally, a Connecting Business and Community project has emerged following a Si Bristol social. Led by Matt McCullen and Hannah Mahoney, the idea has gained momentum and engaged a range of partners who are due to met again in September to develop their project hypothesis. During the first project meeting, one partner from the St Monica's Trust introduced the Double Diamond Model as a tool for system change projects, please see image below. We will be exploring this model, alongside a range of others, as this project progresses.
