Purpose beyond a paycheck

Purpose beyond a paycheck

According to the Gallup 2022 State of the Global Workforce Report, 85% of employees worldwide are not engaged with their job.

By creating a recruitment process that holds company values at its core, you are able to identify those individuals that share your values, are advocates for your mission and vision, and perhaps most importantly, can feel that their job has purpose beyond a paycheck each month.

All too often we see companies pay lip service to an empty set of values, giving the impression that the brand is disingenuous and untrustworthy.

There are no golden rules when it comes to creating a list of core values, but I recommend they are formed with the input of all departments. The defined final list will help you make decisions, empower all employees to hold each other accountable, allow customers decide if they want to work with you, and help applicants and employees decide if they want to work for you.

Modelled values demonstrate and define integrity and character – elements that should be at the very heart of recruitment, but I KNOW that they aren’t.

  • What does your company stand for?
  • What do you want to be known for?
  • What does your company care about?
  • What are the personal values of your most successful and long-serving employees?

You know where we are if you need us.
