Together, we create life-changing wishes for Michigan children with critical illnesses.
In the first step of our journey, you had a chance to meet James - one of our amazing Michigan wish kids. You saw through his parents' eyes the wonderful child he is – the joy and laughter he brings to all he encounters. Today, we ask that you take the next step in James’ journey with us. Learn more about his diagnosis at three-weeks old with a heart defect, his ensuing heart surgery, and hear from the incredible medical team that cared for James throughout his journey - including more than 200 days in the hospital and beyond.
Unfortunately, there are many more children just like James throughout the state of Michigan, all with their own story of living with a critical illness. For these kids and their families, the journey is exhausting, and the emotional toll is heavy. These children need something to hold onto—moments of joy and happiness to give them strength.
And let’s not forget the incredible medical teams throughout the state who note that a wish has a direct impact on their wellbeing as well. 100% of medical providers say the wish experience helps them feel more hopeful and joyful, and 93% say the wish experience strengthens their relationship with their patients. Kudos to these incredible humans!
