The Gujarat forest department has taken significant strides in the battle against climate change by inking 3 crucial Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 2,217 crore for carbon credit through NbS as part of the upcoming 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.
Since our inception, we have believed in the potential of NbS and have worked on closing the climate finance gap. Our approach involves identifying capital where it sits in the world and incentivising its shift towards high-quality carbon removal projects in India and the Global South - where the impacts of climate change will be most severe.
It's validating to see an increased interest from Governments in Nature-Based Solutions and projects designed to anchor on co-benefits. Our regenerative agriculture and agroforestry projects seeks to keep smallholder farmers and communities at the centre of finance flows.
Where We Are
We are excited to attend The Climate Conference 2024, hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Government of India, Avaana Capital and Green Climate Fund. The conference aims to bring together climate-focused entrepreneurs, corporates, policy makers, investors, financial institutions and ecosystem enablers to share their perspectives on how India can achieve economic growth along with sustainability in the coming period.
Our key takeaway from COP28 UAE which was held earlier in December 2023 was the increased dialogue around carbon markets, especially NbS, this year and optimism from the market on its potential. Check out the post below for our detailed take.
