Urban parks are sometimes described as the lungs of a city, helping to fight pollution, control temperatures, as well as improve mental wellbeing and benefit the environment at large. But to keep these spaces green takes a lot of water.

Teaming up with CleverFarm , we’re using IoT technology to make sure that water consumption in Prague’s most popular parks and gardens stays sustainable. Placing sensors under the surface of the ground and linking them up to run on our NB-IoT network helps monitor soil and climate to provide the necessary amount of irrigation to individual sections. Thanks to this, water consumption has reduced by 56%.

Film makers have long embraced the concept of Artificial Intelligence, but many businesses are starting to use AI to offer customers personalised services and resolve customer enquiries more quickly. But while the opportunities for innovation in AI are immense, it’s important we guard against pitfalls such as algorithm bias.

That’s why we are working with the University of Oxford on a new research collaboration project, which will help shape fair, transparent, explainable, and responsible AI.

AST SpaceMobile , in collaboration with Vodafone , is building the first space-based mobile network to connect directly with standard mobile phones without the need for specialised equipment.

It aims to launch a global fleet of satellites that could enable access to connectivity for approximately 1.6 billion people living in Africa, providing universal mobile coverage to rural areas across the continent and extending the connectivity of our leading mobile networks in the region.
