Hope in the Uncertainty of the Future

Hope in the Uncertainty of the Future

For me, there is hope and happiness in the uncertainty of the future. Looking into the future we often only see the uncertainty that might be some kind of harmful to us and this could lead to stress and anxiety.

However, to find hope in the future I have to engage in the uncertainty that comes with the future. If there is a lot more AI in the future that might impact my job then lets face it and lets try to understand what it means for me to subsequently find hope and opoortunities for me to growth in the future.

When I was young I loved to go to the local trainstation and being in the newsstand. All these Newspapers from far places and journals about sports, business and fashion, it was somehow a lens into the unknown and also a sneak peak into the future.

For me it was not so much about buying always the same journal but buying stuff I did not know before. Sometimes it reminds me of my kids today, when I observe them, they are young, what they do to explore their environment. Sometimes I have the feeling they do the unknown think and the uncertain things on purpose proactively to make them ready.

For sure this is well known in research and science but its always fascinating for me to see it. Maybe its the same for us with the future when we gro up and we have already managed so many challenges in life, maybe some of the last and most pressing challenge is engaging into the ever changing future, every single day.

For sure its not every day, however the complexity of the world that we are living in makes the future (more?!) uncertain than ever. For me its coupled with the reach of media that we see today, but also the access to information that we have on our fingertips.

Exploring proactively the uncertainty of the future can help us, if we are open to it, to find meaning, hope and happiness in the future. From all living things facing uncertainty maybe we are the only ones being able to improve how to best adapt adapt and adjust to changing enviornments by exploring Future uncertainty.
