David Stanitzki Shines in the SME Spotlight

Alteryx’s Certification and Training teams are back with a new Subject Matter Expert (SME) Spotlight. This monthly feature highlights one extraordinary individual who has served as a SME in the development of either certification exams or training content. Including a panel of experts with diverse backgrounds is critical to ensuring the validity of current and future offerings in the Alteryx Credentialing portfolio, and we are happy to spotlight some of these amazing individuals who partake in this important work.

3. Where are you currently located? Leipzig, Germany

4. How many years have you been using Alteryx products? More than 4 years.

5. Which Alteryx product do you use the most? Alteryx Designer and server

6. Which certificates have you earned? Designer Core, Designer Advanced, Designer Cloud Core, Designer Cloud Advanced, Designer Cloud Administrator, Server Administrator, Server Implementation.

7. Do you plan to earn any more certifications? Oh yeah, e.g. Designer Expert is still on my to-do list. The more you know the better.

8. What is your favorite part of being a SME? See One, Do One, Teach One. It’s always great to learn new stuff around the Alteryx platform and make it available to my colleagues and customers. Seeing the outcomes of using Alteryx in many different ways is awesome. Everyone is working with data and it’s a bit similar but every use case I am discussing with my customers is unique in the details as well. Being able to adapt your knowledge to new circumstances and being challenged of what is possible everyday energizes me.

9. How has being a SME added value for you and/or your team? You need to gain wide spread knowledge in the Alteryx Platform to have a meaningful conversation around different use cases and solutions. It’s not only the focus on one single element or product. When being able to see the whole picture you get another point of view about data and analytics – you can make an impact and generate value-driven results.

10. What would you say to someone considering becoming a SME? With the words of a wise Jedi: Do, or do not. There is no try. When doing it you will learn a lot of new stuff which will help you to master the toughest challenges out there. And of course a nice badge in the Maveryx Community.
