Dame Prue Leith Q&A at 100% Optical 2023
The wonderful Dame Prue Leith stunned in her Specs By Prue spectacles on the #100Optical Catwalk back in February. Talking about her vibrant style and fashion interests, she was joined by stylist Jane Galpin 👓
"I start each day by choosing my specs and necklace, and then add the clothes to match" said Prue. She then went on to tell 100% Optical visitors her top tips when choosing the right pair of frames: "Just try a pair a touch bolder than you feel comfortable with at first. Just a bit brighter, bigger, bolder, and you’ll be surprised how good they look. Don’t be timid!"
Prue mentioned how she can "never understand" why people spend money on other accessories when "specs are, literally, “in your face”, right where people are looking. They are your most important accessory". This then led her to discuss her collection with MAC Eyewear and how the collection came about. "I’ve had my own range of specs for a while and MAC used to distribute them. Then last year we decided to go into business together. I’m very involved with the design, especially the colours, and so far, so very good" she said.
Prue wanted to highlight how as a cook, her glasses never get in the way! 100% Optical wondered if there happened to ever be any mishaps in the kitchen, Prue was quick to let 100% Optical know that her eyewear collection was designed with this in mind. "They have to be well designed so they don’t slip down your nose when you get hot and sweaty", Prue said, later making a funny comment about how she was "flinging my arms about while telling a funny story, I hooked them off my face and sent them flying".
