It's time to celebrate great leaders........and give them the recognition they deserve.

I decided to take the weekend to myself to unwind, and mostly engage in light work. When you’re as busy as I’ve been recently, it’s so important to prioritise self-care, and the things I used to give such little time to - like sleep, eating nourishing meals, and pursuing a hobby/interest that’s separate from my work.

Actually, if I’m honest, I’ve mostly learnt the value of living a peaceful and balanced life, since stepping in as the Managing Director of I-PRAC. Contrary to popular belief, you could say. Since being appointed as I-PRAC’s new MD, I’ve received several messages congratulating me, and also presuming (with kind intention), how busy I must be. I am busy. Absolutely. But I’m not “overwhelmed” nor in a state of panic; and this is entirely down to Christopher MAUGHAN .

I met Chris in Cannes over six years ago, where he invited me for a meeting. Since then, we have been working closely together - and even more so now that I’ve joined I-PRAC’s senior management team.

You know, oftentimes I feel that the short-term rental industry is at a bit of a disadvantage. Because I know for a fact that if operators learnt closely from Chris (like I have the pleasure of doing every day), they would see genuine, tangible success in their business.

The difference between Chris and the many other self-proclaimed influencers of our industry, is that Chris doesn’t boast about his success (anywhere near as much as I think he should!).This is a person who has built his luxury STR brand from scratch - and does business with the likes of Google, Disney, Expedia, MTV, Paramount, Spotify and more every day.

I speak to Chris on a daily basis, and we often talk for hours. To learn from an entrepreneur who has earned the direct trust of renowned household brands (and knows exactly how to pitch to them) is invaluable for a budding business person like me. He truly is a beacon of knowledge and I have countless “aha moments” when listening to him.

Not only is Chris’s success vast and monumental - but the fact that he’s always willing to share his expertise is what really makes him one of my favourite humans in the industry. ♥️

Chris understands the importance of family time, he values mental health and well-being; and never has he made me feel pressured nor controlled since I’ve stepped in as MD of I-PRAC. We’re all guilty of taking things for granted sometines - and my working relationship with Chris (and his incredible teachings) is something I never want to do the same with.
