Celebrating Innovation and Service: Nevada DMV Honored at the Government Experience Awards 2024

Today, I have the honor of celebrating you—the dedicated team behind the DMV—and recognizing your incredible achievement in earning recognition for the Government Experience Awards 2024, from the Government Technology Center for Digital Technology. This nomination is not just an acknowledgment of our collective hard work, but a testament to your commitment to making the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles DMV a leader in public service innovation.

Why You Won:

You’ve earned this recognition because of the DMV Transformation Effort, or DTE—a project that’s about much more than moving services online. It’s about redefining the customer experience, making it easier for Nevadans to interact with us on their own terms. Thanks to your dedication, more people can now take care of DMV business from home, at their convenience, with faster results.

Services that once required a trip to the DMV—like vehicle registration from a private party or out-of-state transfers—are now being moved online, cutting down the lines and making the DMV experience smoother for everyone. And let’s not forget our kiosks, which continue to provide quick and easy access for things like renewals and license plate tags. This balanced approach—digital and in-person—shows that we’re truly serving the public, no matter their preference.

What Makes This Special:

What sets the DTE apart is you—the team behind the transformation. From our frontline staff to IT specialists and leadership, this project is a collective effort. You’ve partnered strategically with: Salesforce , Slalom ,Mission Critical Partners—but it’s our DMV team members who make this transformation work. You’ve embraced change, adapted to new tools, and made sure our constituents feel supported at every turn.

The best part? And you are only just getting started. As the DTE progresses, more services are coming online, giving Nevadans even more flexibility and reducing the need for in-person visits. But don’t worry, our brick-and-mortar offices aren’t going anywhere. DMV has shown they are committed to offering face-to-face services for those who need or prefer it. This is about options, not limitations.

And importantly, this transformation isn’t about cutting jobs—it’s about expanding opportunities. Our teams will continue to grow as Nevada grows, and your roles will evolve to meet the demand for both online and in-person services.

In short, this recognition reflects your hard work, innovation, and dedication to improving the way we serve Nevadans. The DMV Transformation Effort is about reimagining how government services can be delivered, and it wouldn’t be possible without the extraordinary team we have here today.

Congratulations to each of you for making this happen. You are the reason the DMV is being recognized on a national stage, and I couldn’t be prouder to be a supporter and shinning the light to a well deserving team.

In Service,

Timothy Galluzi
