2020 has been a Supersocial Year
On June 1st 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, we started a new company — Supersocial. Our mission? To build virtual worlds with insanely engaging gameplay experiences that connect, delight and inspire millions of people, in the metaverse.
For our 1st Phase we decided to build for Roblox — a game creation platform that enable anyone to imagine, create, and have fun with friends as they explore millions of immersive 3D experiences, all built by a global community of developers. Roblox is not only one of the fastest growing gaming platforms around the world but also, and perhaps more importantly, an example of the powerful outcome when human connection, co-creation and joy are enabled over the Internet, at scale. This outcome was exponentially wider during a pandemic.
We embarked on this journey with a purposeful conviction, unapologetic ambition, and relentless execution to chart our own unique path into the “metaverse”. Since starting the company 6 months ago we’ve:
- Built a team of ultra-talented, dedicated and passionate people;
- That operates remotely, and effectively, from 10 different cities in 4 countries and 3 time zones;
- United around a culture of trust, candor and joy;
- Built and tested our first product in closed beta, Ghostopia, a multiplayer sandbox RPG;
- And got amazing feedback from an engaged, early adopter community;
We have a special team and I'm proud of what we've accomplished together this year in such a short period of time. I’m grateful to our stellar group of investors for their trust and belief in our team and vision. Supersocial is fortunate to finish 2020 on a high note.
We are excited about what 2021 will bring and would love to hear from from you if are curious about joining us on this audacious journey. For more information about Supersocial, check: Our Vision | Our Culture | Our Values | Open Positions
Alongside the Supersocial team, I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday!
we need to catch up so you can tell me more. I sold Living in Digital Times to CES and I'm now launching VEG (Virtual Events Group) to explore the possibilities of virtual engagement. Happy holidays.
