Casino Update: Antonio Perez Perez, GM of Rolling Hills Casino and Resort 'What are we capable of doing with everything we've added? We want to optimize everything we have done over the last three years... We're constantly looking for what technology makes sense and how we can apply it to make a difference... There's always going to be things that are going to change with the economy, but if you really dive into what's happening in revenue generation, we are starting to see trends more aligned with what has happened in the past.' #casinoupdate #antonioperez #rollinghillscasino"

A casino in Europe was recently part of a rolling brownout. Just three minutes of power loss cost them $700,000! Under casino laws, even a momentary blip of power means the casino has to pay electronic bets. 💰 This is just one of many examples of how businesses can incur great losses, even during short-term power loss. That’s why making the transition to Grid 3.0 is crucial for businesses. Never heard of it? I see tons of concerts every year -- big ones and small ones. I'm not sure about you, but I will pay dearly to see an artist or band that is important to me. And I'll skip the rest. Here are my 2 cents on this supposed "trend" about fans not paying up to see shows this summer. * LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. No one wants to see a show in a giant venue with half the seats filled -- and the artists won't want to play to them. Fans want to see artists in the places where we can see (and feel) the music. These giant venues are no fun unless they are packed and everyone in the audience knows every song. The audience is part of the dynamic. The Black Keys are being smart, instead of canceling...they are re-tooling their shows to be in venues where it will be fun for fans (and them). J Lo -- not so much. Rather than reworking her show, she's canceling. Sorry, but experimentation for the win. * FAN SERVICE: The smart artists are playing smaller shows and also double-billing them. Pay attention to this trend. I'm seeing Jane's Addiction and Love & Rockets and they're well paired. Both shows will be awesome and who knows -- maybe they'll all end up on stage together. The chance for the unexpected to happen is part of the magic. Plus, the show is Pier 17 in NYC. It's an outstanding outdoor venue with a view of NYC. Could they have played at a bigger venue? Sure. Would it seem as fun? No way.

This video is great and if you have 4 non-consecutive hours it's worth a watch, and the conclusion of why the hotel (spoilers) failed uh... echoes what's going on in games. Hype and fluff for shareholders, stuff that used to be free moved to in-experience purchases, a workers trying their hardest while being squeezed for more effort for less money, and a huge investment being uncerimoniously written off when it doesn't make infinite money https://lnkd.in/e4wXPv6m

Steve Moore, founder and chief executive of Red Engine Team, the Flight Club and Electric Shuffleboard operator, talks to Katherine Doggrell at Propel's Multi Club conference about how the company has become a £100m-turnover business, its growth plans for the UK and the US, how it continues to innovate its F&B offer and games. Quick quotes from Steve: "Stories is big for us - what we send out after the event - photos etc... we treat re-bookers really well and we have customers who go to multiple venues in one night as the offer is slightly different in each venue." "US market is a bit bizarre, in UK we are comfortable and we can localise the product nicely.. but there are many differences across cities and states, and social behaviour is different, in US it is more event-led... we have 8/9 sites and we think we can go to 200 in US, we are working on whether the smaller model works... the big one definitely does... our focus is on Australia, US and UK... F&B is about 70% of our revenue." "Electric Shuffle is just about to launch in New York.. our average group size is ten and we focus on the ability to entertain groups." "In UK London we will probably go to 12 but I would love to go explore smaller places for further growth... we have calls for the technology to be licensed but we refuse because we see it as part of our brand package." 📌How Did the Oasis Reunion Tour Trigger Investigations? What Happened? 🔸After a 15-year break, #Oasis announced a reunion tour across the UK and Ireland. While fans were initially thrilled, their excitement quickly turned to frustration when ticket prices skyrocketed. Within just a few hours, the price surged from £135 to £350. This sharp increase was caused by #dynamicpricing. Background 🔸Dynamic pricing, or "surge pricing," is a practice where prices rise in response to growing demand. It’s commonly used in industries such as aviation and hospitality and is now becoming more prevalent in the entertainment sector. 🔸#Ticketmaster, the primary platform for selling Oasis concert tickets, previously stated that it’s the artists or event organisers who decide whether to implement dynamic pricing. However, the significant backlash from fans over these price hikes has led the #UK government to launch an investigation into the practice. Government Response 🔸The UK government plans to include questions about #transparency and the use of dynamic pricing in its upcoming review of ticket sales regulations. Authorities aim to determine how to protect consumers from sudden price surges driven by #algorithms and improve regulation in this area. Our Take 🔸Dynamic pricing is a legitimate tool that platforms use to manage demand by adjusting prices. It makes sense that ticket prices would rise when demand spikes — non-essential items tend to go to those willing to pay the highest price. 🔸However, #economic #theory and #market #dynamics sometimes clash with consumer rights and expectations. At the very least, platforms should clearly explain how pricing works and avoid misleading customers about the prices on offer. 🔸The concert ticket market is highly #competitive, and the government cannot dictate prices. However, regulators can push for greater transparency, requiring #platforms to disclose the factors influencing dynamic prices to #consumers.
