Fantastic information to get your desired reach when posting on LinkedIn! Love the confirmation about consistent and timely posts - good reminders for everyone. My big takeaway from this infographic is the character count for text only and text + image posts. I will immediately put this into action. In terms of my favorite post format, my views vary as a marketer and as a consumer (which can probably lead to an entirely different post!) As a marketer, I know video works and encourages people to stay on the post longer. Plus the storytelling value can't be overlooked. As a consumer, my preferred posts are probably text + image or even carousel posts (I have control of timing there). I don't always want to spend the amount of time required for multiple videos when perusing my feed. If you’re a thoughtful and frequent creator you may have noticed that your post traction seemed to be dropping. It’s not only you. The algorithm is changing and lots of real thoughtful humans who write stuff are suffering. One of the culprits? Gen AI + lazy people. They’re flooding the place with lame content. Or as ChtGPT might tee it up, “In a world of digital AI posts, you need to craft your own … blasted thought leadership based upon on your own freaking thoughts.” So it looks like video will be getting priority. Can we get a collective groan from busy people who can read way faster than a video can unspool and like to have turns of phrase they can find again easily?! This is the *only* business social platform. It’s a great place to keep up to date with contacts, network with new folks, and keep up to date on industry trends. But it is only as truly useful as the things it serves up. And right now? It feels like the day-olds from the bakery. I’m connected to a lot of people - I want to *read about* what they’re up to and what they think. (All this ranting aside, huge thank you and appreciation to Richard van der Blom for doing the work and showing the way and Oliver Pangborn for always sending me the most useful posts that I need to read.)

Platform trends are changing fast and staying adaptive is a key. Adaptability, authenticity and native video are definitely becoming the dominant format and I'm interested to see how this will impact engagement. Personally I think video is one of the most effective ways to engage with audiences.
