🎄 Spreading Festive Cheer in Northampton 🎄 At Yusen Logistics UK, our Northampton teams have embraced the spirit of giving this holiday season through heartfelt volunteering and fundraising efforts to support our local communities. 💙 🌟 Wellingborough Site Highlights: Our Wellingborough site proudly continued its longstanding support for @Cransley Hospice, a cherished Wellingborough charity. This year, the team went above and beyond to make a difference by: Hosting a Family Fun Day to raise funds. Sponsoring Cransley’s Christmas Tree Recycling Project. Donating thoughtful gifts and essentials for patients spending the holidays at the hospice, including gift bags, fluffy socks, blankets, sweets, craft items, and personal hygiene products. Rebecca Pattenall from Cransley Hospice Trust shared her heartfelt thanks: "Thank you so much for your support this year. We were overwhelmed by the amount you all collected for us. It really means the world to us. The hospice wanted me to say a big thank you to you all. They were so excited to give such lovely presents to our patients at Christmas.” 🌍 GP3 Team: In Northampton, our GP3 team organized a cake sale to raise funds for the International Red Cross, supporting flood relief efforts across Europe. 🎀 GP1 Team: Meanwhile, the GP1 team hosted a raffle and cake sale in support of Wear It Pink, raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research. 🎁 Partnering with @HopeCentre: To wrap up the festive activities, volunteers from our GP campus partnered with our Northampton charity partner, Hope Centre, to wrap Christmas presents for their service users—spreading joy and hope during the festive season. Did you know that this week is #HospicecareWeek? More importantly, did you know that Weldmar Hospicecare raises more money through our chain of charity stores that we recieve from the NHS? That's right. Second hand clothes, recycled furniture and children's toys raise more than twice the amount of money than we recieve from the NHS. Imagine any other health care service that relies on selling second hand goods to fund dignified and compassionate person centred care. Last year 1,129,564 items were sold in our charity shops - without which, our services would look very different. Why is raising awareness of this important. Well, it's twofold. Firstly, it's important that people support their local charity shops. Donate, browse and buy - it keeps vital services on the road and adds such value to a challenging highstreet. But secondly, because allowing charities, and in this case hospices, to rely on second hand sales to fund vital care services is not sustainable. Change needs to happen and hospices need to be funded fairly and sustainably. Write to your MP. Ask them to meet with us and Hospice UK to discuss the scale of the challenges facing hospice care services right now. Let's drive change together! https://lnkd.in/ePf-G7Pi #Hospice #Hospicecare #Charity #ThirdSector

Working with the health & care sector for a number of years has opened my eyes to the amazing job the people that look after our most vulnerable in society do. It is why 20 of us from Howden Health & Care will be walking 34km of the Jurassic Coast to raise awareness and much needed funds for two great charities… The Care Workers' Charity support the almost 2 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of the largest workforces. They care for some of the most vulnerable people in our society with little recognition and often no reward. Care workers face challenges every day such as loss of income, inconsistent hours, consequences of low recruitment and retention and lack adequate resources to help care workers do their job to the best of their ability. Ickle Pickles are the smallest and sickest babies who need intensive care in neonatal units. There are over 90,000 babies born sick or prematurely in the UK every year. One in thirteen babies are born prematurely. Ickle Pickles can be a full term babies (40 weeks) requiring treatment or surgery or more likely babies born prematurely (before 37 weeks). Babies born before 27 weeks are classed as extremely premature and it is often these tiniest babies who need the most help. Since 2009, the Ickle Pickles Children's Charity has been raising money for the intensive care equipment that treats these babies and helps to keep them alive. Starting at Corfe Castle then along the Purbeck Ridge down to Lulworth Cove and on past the iconic Durdle Moor with some steep ups & downs en route. An elevation of c.1,100m apparently. To be honest I get tired just thinking about it. I am posting this to ask for your support in helping us raise as much as possible for these two worthwhile causes. If you are able to donate please use the link below. Anything you can spare would be really appreciated. #careworkers #charity #healthandcare

As I recently shared, I am now working for St Vincent de Paul - QLD, so for the first time since 2008, I am not working in or for a Medical Centre. Given the diversity of the skills, experiences, and qualifications I gained in that time, it was time for a new industry, complete with new challenges. The very first project I was given, was helping with this years FNQ Vinnies Community Sleepout. The goal of this event, has three main components: 1) Raise awareness to the plight of over 22,000 Queenslanders who will tonight not have adequate or long term living arrangements, and will be braving the elements anywhere they can find 2) Raise awareness to the Good Works that St Vincent de Paul Society has done, continues to do, is about to do, and would like to do in the future. 3) Raise monies towards through events such as this to help achieve the goal of building 500 homes in Queensland over the next five years. You have the choice to spend the night under the stars with nothing but cardboard boxes for shelter. For so many others, they have lost this choice, and sleep wherever they can, possibly not even knowing where that will be each night. Sadly I, like so many others, suffer from Sleep Apnea, so sleeping rough for me is not really an option unless I have somewhere I can plug my CPAP machine into. But, I would still like to be part of the Fundraising, so have registered a donation page and have made the first donation. I'm asking if my extended network can do two things for me. Share this post, and donate $1.00. More if you can, but you would be amazed at how quickly this can grow. If you tell two people, who tells two people, who also tells two people, etc., after 4 iterations, my 600+ connections could extend my reach to 4,800 people, and raise $4,800.00 if everyone donates $1.00. My personal goal is $2,000.00, but I think we can smash this in no time! My donation page can be found https://bit.ly/AdzyCSO Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to thanking each of you individually for your share and donation.

We need your help to support and sustain our ambitions of becoming a 24/7 service. We only respond to the region's most ill and injured patients, so when you see our blue lights illuminating from a distance, you know someone is in urgent need of our care. You could save someone's life when you donate towards our blue light bar. Our blue light bar alerts the general public to move aside and give way, as our specially trained paramedics can travel over 100mph to get to a patient in need. Speed, in these situations, can mean the difference between life and death - the sooner our teams get to a patient, the sooner they are able to perform life-saving interventions by the roadside. Last year, our cars were deployed and our blue lights activated a staggering 745 times - they are simply a necessity on our cars. Help to fund our blue lights to ensure we are ready to go 24/7 across the region: https://lnkd.in/d7wpWwxe #Charity #AirAmbulace

£91,000 (please read, such amazing news) 🎉🥳💕👏 This photo is from where it all started, the first charity ball for See The Future with my Mum and Dad. Now today hits 11 years officially registered, never thought it would have lasted this long, and it only has due to the support I've received from all of you, whether you've liked and shared a charity post of mine, donated a pound, been a part of my events or ran an event yourself, you've all supported See The Future. Now, this year, after filing my accounts with my amazing accountant James Banks (who I highly recommend), I asked him how much the charity has raised so far. Now, considering charities take a while to establish, we've had covid where events couldn't take place for nearly two years, cost of living crisis where events had been cancelled, I only run the charity when I have free time as I work full time and run around after my two little girls, he came back and told me an AMAZING £91,000! Now pushing for the £100,000, if this isn't motivation to do that, I don't know what is!!!! This charity spreads awareness, raising vital funds for research into eye conditions and aftercare but also keeps my Mums memory alive, and again, I thank you all for making this possible. Now let's hit that £100,000 mark 👏 #awareness #support #registered #fundraising #charity #smallcharity #thousandsofpounds #thankyou #covid #costoflivingcrisis #supportlocal #funds #donations #eyes #eyecare #health #healthcare #research #vision #disease #glasses #sunglasses #you #family #friends #events #Devon #eastdevon #charityevents 💕

🎉 Today, we're celebrating Hats for Headway Day at Headway Shropshire's Community Wellbeing Centre and offices! 🎩 Hats for Headway is an annual campaign celebrated by different Headway charities across the country, sparking conversations and actions to raise awareness of brain injury. Did you know that every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is admitted to the hospital with a brain injury? It only takes a few seconds for a life to be completely knocked off course. From strokes to falls, road traffic collisions to assaults, brain tumours to meningitis, the causes of brain injuries are varied and often unexpected. These injuries can have devastating, life-long effects on anyone, including you and your loved ones. But here's the good news: Headway is here to support everyone affected by a brain injury, and those caring for them. Through our network of local groups and branches, our free helpline, and comprehensive online resources, we rebuild lives – second by second, step by step, day by day. So, take a second to find out more about our work, and if you can, please get involved. Whether it's by donating, volunteering, or simply raising awareness of our services, every action counts. And here's an extra incentive: if you donate via our link today, your contribution will be doubled by the Big Give Kind2Mind campaign. Thank you for your support, because every 90 seconds, someone like you needs our help. https://lnkd.in/eNT-5FyV #HatsForHeadway #BrainInjuryAwareness #SupportingRecovery #BigGiveKind2Mind 🧠💙

This June, we're bringing back our #HealthyCities steps challenge! A 30-day challenge, designed to get our people moving and improve their health, whilst raising money for charity. Our goal is to each walk 6,000 steps - or equivalent wheelchair pushes - every day to release funds for Bupa's Green Community grants, which help local schools and charities make their spaces greener and cleaner. The more we move, the more money we'll release! Holly, our Health and Wellbeing Partner, said: "The Healthy Cities 30-day steps challenge has such a positive impact because getting out and getting our daily steps in is good for our physical and mental health. It's good to know that you can complete a challenge, and it's a meaningful activity to participate in because you know you're doing good!" Stay tuned for updates on how our teams are getting on throughout the month 👏 #BupaDentalCare #Dentistry #DentalCare #HealthyCities #BupaHealthyCities #HealthAndWellbeing #LoveWorkingHere
