Happy 1st birthday to Express Global Transport! It’s hard to believe that twelve months passed and we’re already celebrating the first year of Express Global Transport. If you missed it, Express Global Transport provides urgent same/next day domestic transport for any consignment with our own dedicated fleet of long wheel based vans. Thinking back to the first time that we discussed it inside our meeting room, I can’t help but think about the trust that both my colleague Anthony and I shared when we decided to embark on this venture. It was a leap of faith, but perfectly aligned with the 2024 motto of the Fratelli Cosulich Group: Empowering Business Ideas. This business idea, which is actually a diversification compared to the core activities of Express Global UK, was born from listening to the needs of our domestic market and addressing the increasing need for just-in-time road transport. In fact, we believed in the project so much that, in one extreme case, I even made deliveries myself! It’s a memory that makes me smile today, but it truly represents how committed we are to this initiative. As we blow out the candle on the cake, my focus is already on the future. The second year holds exciting opportunities, and we’re ready to invest in the brand and the product, making this name even more relevant—not just in the UK, but we would love to put down the right strategy to see Express Global Transport grow across Northern Europe. We have big opportunities, collaborating with colleagues within the wider Cosulich Logistics network, we’re well-positioned to grow and expand our reach. I have been involved in Supply Chain Management for most of my life. I have been involved in Global Shipping for nearly 20 years. I am now following a different career path since 2018. FRANKLY SPEAKING... reading some of the DSV – Global Transport and Logistics + DB Schenker articles or comments, I wonder if the publishers have ever worked in logistics or in a service provider company. Will not list all aspects which I see differently, but two things should be clear: A) No clue if our future joint company will really become no.1, e.g. in airfreight, and still be successful. There is only one who will decide upon it: our customers!  Only if we perform well in the future, act as one joint team and maintain/extend our customer-base, we might achieve this together. But we need to deserve it first, it's not a given and requires full commitment by all team-members. B) One thing I know for sure from own experience:  There are great people within DSV and great people within DB Schenker, and I really look forward to form the future joint DSV-team of great professionals.  Like today: Looking into our own Global Airfreight department, with colleagues coming from former ABX, Panalpina, UTI or Agility (and even airliners...), the real strength of DSV is the Mix of all these experts, working together with the same mind-set and spirit:  delivering top service and value to our customers, every day! Whoever shares those values, should be looking forward to some exciting years ahead.
