We are doing more than ever to address the trauma that leads to, and results from, homelessness. That’s why for this year’s Big Give, we’re raising money for trauma-informed mental health support. Be it a family breakdown, bereavement, a job loss or domestic abuse, lots of events can create trauma. This can lead to homelessness, which itself often leads to new trauma. In fact, 76% of people staying with us have a mental health condition related to trauma. That’s why we offer a wide range of specifically trauma-informed mental health support - personalised help delivered by trained therapists that enables people to move on from past experiences, and homelessness, for good. The Big Give opens on December 3rd. When it does, donations to our trauma-informed therapy would be incredibly welcome. #biggive #christmaschallenge24 #traumainformedsupport #mentalhealth #wellbeing

Does an organisation's name really matter? Absolutely! Get it right and it can instantly convey valuable truths about your company. So, what about 'Now You're Talking'? Well, we are a profit-for-purpose company offering therapy sessions to help people achieve inner peace. Profit is donated back to our charity, TLC: Talk, Listen, Change, to help it continue championing community well-being through services that offer support for domestic abuse, mental health, mediation, and separation. So, our name delivers on two fronts. One - it suggests something that is well worth doing. Two - it taps into the proactive power of communication in the journey towards inner peace. Because the truth is that self-expression can be transformative. Sign up to our newsletter to receive regular insights into mental well-being: https://lnkd.in/e-rY2TpC

Our team of advocates are raising funds and awareness for women’s mental health for Liptember. Mothers navigating the family law system face significant mental health challenges, including heightened risks of anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Prolonged legal battles, lack of support, and the trauma of domestic violence can severely impact the wellbeing of mothers and their children. As our family lawyers know, a multidisciplinary approach in integrating mental health support into the legal process is necessary to protect the wellbeing of mothers and their children. Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. As a Mental Health Diplomat, I feel very strongly around the phrase "There is no Physical Health without Mental Health". They are intertwined in so many ways. At this time in our juncture, many of us are dealing with stressors outside of our control. There are many of us dealing with a whole new phase of our career, on the job hunt again, not by choice. There are many of us worried about the upcoming election and what that means for our own lives no matter the outcome. There are many of us worried about loved ones health or grieving the loss of someone close to us. Or frankly, there just many of us riding the roller coaster that a mental health condition brings. Today is a reminder to step back and remind ourselves that we are all human and need to prioritize our mental health. There are many resources to help us do that through our own organizations, advocacy groups such as #NAMI and #MentalHealthAmerica, or even just leaning on our close family and friends. But, MOST IMPORTANTLY, today is a reminder to not just prioritize your mental health today but EVERY DAY! Use your resources. Reach out when you need help. And always remember to be kind as everyone is fighting their own battles. #mentalhealthadvocate #worldmentalhealthday #mentalhealthdiplomat #breakthestigma
Our mental health can’t wait. 🌎 On #WorldMentalHealthDay, we encourage you to start prioritizing your mental health. Whether you’re giving yourself a break from screens, going to therapy, checking in with a friend, or taking that first step by taking a mental health test on our website - small actions can have a big impact on your mental well-being. Healing is possible. Let’s take the first step together. 🤍 mhascreening.org P.S. To double the impact we can make together, all donations to Mental Health America during #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek will be matched up to $15,000 by GFL Environmental! One $50 donation connects 40 people to our free online mental health screening tools. Give today at https://lnkd.in/exWGxp5D

Most people with thoughts of suicide do not want to die but are struggling with emotional pain. The month of September is recognized as World Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, with September 10th being World Suicide Prevention Awareness Day. We at Canadian Mental Health Association, Waterloo Wellington are reaching out with a request, Will you help us to #StartTheConversation and help those struggling? In the coming week we will be sharing content on how you can start the conversation: ✔ Learn how to talk about suicide. ✔ Take an ASIST or SafeTalk training. ✔ Donate to our suicide prevention, intervention and postvention services. The theme for World Suicide Prevention Awareness Month is Changing the Narrative #StartTheConversation. This theme is especially meaningful to us at CMHA WW, as we work to promote conversation, reaching out, and supporting one another. Please consider sharing our posts, taking a training, or making a donation: https://lnkd.in/gQKD3Ar9
