“Alea iacta est” meaning “The die is cast” is a quote from Julius Caesar. Another of his lines is “Well done is quickly done.” My version of this is “No Messing Around.” Set a deadline that everyone knows, and make it happen. I can tell you it’s not always like that; flawed as I am, I can prevaricate as much as anyone else. However, that is the best way to get things done. If you are on a football team and want to win the championship, you don’t mind what hours or days of the week you work. Modern employment laws often rule against that, creating a culture where people miss out on the excitement of winning a war. Build golden bridges, go around stone walls, and make an exciting culture of like-minded people intent on their goals. Amazing things happen when you allow individuals to do things their way, not always yours. That’s my formula. Everyone is different, but finding the right individuals, encouraging them, and showing the way by doing more for them than they’d ever expect is crucial. Pull your own weight and let those who don’t work go as soon as you realise it; mostly, people don’t change.

Navigating the skies with precision and pride, the Red Arrows have long been a symbol of British excellence. As a seasoned professional in the recruitment sector, I've always been fascinated by the parallels between their displays and the meticulous coordination required in building successful teams. Just as each Red Arrow pilot must trust in the expertise and commitment of their colleagues, so too must we place confidence in the talents and dedication of those we work alongside in our industries. Whether in engineering, where my roots lie, or in the strategic assembly of a top-tier recruitment firm, the core principles of teamwork, precision, and excellence remain the same. The Red Arrows' displays, much like the meticulous planning behind a successful Caterham 7 race day, remind us that every role is critical, every manoeuvre calculated, and every outcome a testament to the collective effort. It's this synergy that drives success, whether soaring above crowds or steering a company to new heights. As we look ahead to the Euros 2024 and the Olympics 2024, let's draw inspiration from the Red Arrows' displays of teamwork and strive for that level of excellence in our own fields. After all, it's the seamless integration of individual strengths that creates an unbeatable team, both in the air and on the ground. #Teamwork #Excellence #RedArrows

Louis Braille, a name that even today symbolizes hope and liberation for millions of visually impaired people across the globe. Life Lessons from this Average Remarkable Human: 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆: Even after losing his sight at a young age, Braille never lost his interest in learning and discovering the world. His invention of the Braille system was born out of curiosity and his belief that blind people should have the same access to knowledge as sighted individuals. 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Braille took his adversity blindness, and converted it into an opportunity to innovate. Instead of yielding to the limitations presented to him, he invented a system that allowed not just him, but all visually impaired people worldwide to read and write efficiently. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳: Braille did not just create the Braille system for himself. He created it for all visually impaired individuals around the world.
