On Saturday, Big Horn Youth Choir, along with a few of their friends, brought holiday cheer to the kids at the Ranch in Billings with their carols and cookies at the chapel. Hey, Big Horn Youth Choir! Thank you for sharing your time and talents to make the holiday season special for the youth in our care. We appreciate you!

If you are trying to build a children's or youth choir in your church, it can feel like trying to break through a solid wall. Every individual challenge you face is another brick. What are the key challenges for you, and what would help you break through the wall? There is no shortage of challenges in starting a junior choir in your church, whether alongside an existing adult choir or freestanding. Where do you recruit children from, when there are so few families and young people in church? How do you forge links with schools who may have lost the tradition of sung assemblies? Where do you find the time for the foot-slog involved in recruiting? Then there are the attitudes and preconceptions of children and parents. How do you convince them that being in a church choir is going to be truly beneficial, so that they should prioritise it above all the other activities that may be on offer? How do you overcome misconceptions, suspicions or even hostility about church or the Christian way? And who inside your church may need to be convinced that building a children's choir is the right thing to do? Is there going to be the flexibility you need, among clergy, adult choir and congregation, to carve out space for children and value their contribution to the leading of worship? Are there enough boots on the ground to make it work? You may be able to train some young singers yourself, but who is going to look after them and keep them safe and involved when you are doing other things? Is singing in the choir going to be enough of an attraction to keep them coming, or do you need a social element to supplement it? And do you, personally, have the skills and resources you need to make a success of it? Where do you see your own key challenges, in your own church environment? What would help? What do you need? If you could wish three things into existence, that would help you start to tear down that wall, what would they be?

Edit Warning to all those wanting to do the survey - try NOT to do it on your phone especially if you are clicking on the link from facebook A few people have had problems with this. Please copy and paste the link into a browser. And whenever you do click on a link on facebook - look for the three dots top right, click on them and then choose "Open in external browser". My daughter says nothing works well as long as you stay within facebook and don't go to an external browser. Just a reminder to you all about the research - we are up to nearly 300 participants for the former cultic groups members but stuck on 25 for the non cultic groups. See both posters below - NB the one for former cultic group members is in the first comment Almost everyone has belonged to or still does belong to some kind of group - it might be a mainstream church, a local community group, choir, orchestra, woodworking group (or similar!!), and so one. Please do consider helping us with the non cultic group one. Because the LinkedIn requires jpeg files here are the links For former members of cults https://lnkd.in/df-bh43z For members/former members of other kinds of groups https://lnkd.in/dVeiXg99

Did a teacher ask you to mime in the school choir when you were nine? If so you're not alone. LOTS of people had the same experience. However, help is at hand. James Sills, Katie Rose, Bec Quinn, Tom Billington, Sam McNeill and all at SongDivision are here to help. And so am I. And Mark Deeks. I've written a song about it. #teambuilding #teamengagement #teamharmony

How do you define ‘men’? A single word can’t capture the depth of roles they play—mentors, friends, fathers, sons, and more. Today, let’s celebrate their contributions and the connections they create. To all the men out there—thank you for being the bridge to strength and support in our lives. #SakavMedia #BrandStorytelling #InternationalMensDay

🌟 Sharing a Heartwarming Moment of Compassion 🌟 I came across this touching video that beautifully encapsulates the essence of what life should truly be about - serving and helping others. In the video, a pregnant wife found herself unable to afford all the necessities for her soon-to-be newborn baby due to financial constraints. However, what truly warmed my heart was seeing a kind-hearted man stepping in to assist. He quietly followed the couple, adding everything the mom desired but couldn't purchase due to the steep prices. Witnessing his thoughtful gesture, I couldn't help but reflect on the profound impact simple acts of kindness can have on someone's life. This poignant scene reminded me of the importance of being observant to notice when others are struggling, and to extend a helping hand whenever possible. I've made it a personal mission to instill this value in my own children, often sharing similar experiences with them. Whenever they question why I choose to help others, I recount my own struggles with limited resources in the past. I remind them that just as others helped me when I was in need, it's now my turn to pay it forward. Their understanding and eagerness to assist, whether it's offering a kind word or putting together courtesy bags for the homeless, reaffirms my belief in the power of compassion. Let's all strive to make a positive difference in the lives of those around us, one act of kindness at a time. Together, we can create a ripple effect of generosity and goodwill that brightens the world for everyone. #KindnessMatters #PayItForward #CompassionInAction 🌟🤝🌍
Life would be so much more beautiful if we all lend a helping hand. ❤️ Kindness, empathy, and support make life beautiful. Let's create a compassionate society by supporting each other. 💕🤝

Many parents have strict policies for their children regarding what music they listen to and what they see online, which includes who they follow on social media. For example, say your tween daughter has an Instagram account that you monitor carefully, and the accounts she follows have been vetted and are both age and morally appropriate. All of a sudden, these carefully selected Christian content creators begin posting in detail about the latest Taylor Swift album, saying they're coming out of the closet and they don't care what anybody thinks about it, going on to explain why the album is okay to listen to if you are an adult, that it isn't child-friendly, and so on...but sharing the lyrics along with photos and video of their bizarre album-release-dinner-party-ritual-events(I have no idea what to call the release dinner party celebrations that I've seen all over my CHRISTIAN social media feed...so forgive me if my name for sounds weird, but the images I saw were pretty weird so I simply called it as I saw it). So many young people were exposed to controversial lyrics at the hands of the Christians they follow on social media, and so many of those who posted this content did so while defending Taylor Swift in a way that makes absolutely no sense at all for someone who has chosen to take up their cross daily and follow after Jesus. And the comments on these posts are equally controversial and surprising. Basically, what I've seen is those who take a stand against this album and its content by saying it's not really what Christ followers ought to be listening to get DESTROYED in the comments by the ample swarm of fans who feel the need to lash out against anyone who dares question their absolute allegiance to the pop star. (Note: they come out swinging against those who declare their allegiance to Jesus in an attempt to justify their allegiance to Taylor Swift as Christians...make it make sense!)
