Pivoting to finance is a change for me, but here’s why I did it. When considering a new career/job, I feel there are three things to consider outside of the basics- compensation, PTO, and insurance. For me, it’s impact, fulfillment, and growth opportunity. For this reason, while standing with two offers and waiting to hear back from a third company, I chose Northwestern Mutual. Historically, people of color have not been taught financial literacy, and most of us are not prepared for emergencies that may come, such as funeral expenses. I witnessed this firsthand with my family pooling money together for funerals. For me, this was a strategic move based on the impact and transformation I (and many other leaders) can have within Black and Brown communities. There are not many folks who look like me in this industry, but I promise in the coming months and years that I will do my due diligence to empower us, educate us, and move us forward financially, professionally, and personally.

Absolutely right Warren Buffett “Were we to use more than 1% of my claim checks (Berkshire Hathaway stock certificates) on ourselves, neither our happiness nor our well-being would be enhanced. In contrast, that remaining 99% can have a huge effect on the health and welfare of others.” Pledge Letter My Philanthropic Pledge In 2006, I made a commitment to gradually give all of my Berkshire Hathaway stock to philanthropic foundations. I couldn’t be happier with that decision. Now, Bill and Melinda Gates and I are asking hundreds of rich Americans to pledge at least 50% of their wealth to charity. So I think it is fitting that I reiterate my intentions and explain the thinking that lies behind them. First, my pledge: More than 99% of my wealth will go to philanthropy during my lifetime or at death. Measured by dollars, this commitment is large. In a comparative sense, though, many individuals give more to others every day. - Giving Plege
Today is my friend Warren’s 94th birthday. To this day, I still learn so much from Warren every time we're together. I cherish his friendship, and I'll always be grateful for his extraordinary support of the foundation. It’s hard to quantify the impact he’s had on the lives of so many people around the world. The only thing as big as Warren’s generosity is his sweet tooth.

💫 Biblical Principles & Financial Stewardship: A Lesson in Faith and Finances 💫 Last week, a student and I sat down to unpack Business by the Book by Larry Burkett. They asked if I agreed with the author’s stance on investing and retirement planning. My response? Not entirely. Here’s why: As Christians, we’re promised riches and inheritance (Proverbs 13:22), but we’re also called to give generously (2 Corinthians 9:6-7). These two principles aren’t mutually exclusive. In fact, they work hand-in-hand to glorify God through stewardship! This semester, we explored Business as a Mission and the Generosity of Giving. The heart of the message? Wise financial planning equips us to fulfill our call to give and serve. 💡 Did you know? The Roth IRA limit for 2024 is $7,000. That’s just $135 a week invested into S&P 500 index funds for 30 years. Here’s the math: 💰 You invest: $210,000 💸 You retire with: $1,300,000 (tax-free!). This is the power of compound interest—and faithful stewardship. What could God do through you if you planned today to be a millionaire for His kingdom tomorrow? 📖 “The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.” (Proverbs 21:20) I don’t know how I got here, but I love my job!❤️ I’ve attached a heartfelt video to inspire you to step boldly into financial stewardship. What are your thoughts on balancing biblical principles with modern investing? 👉🏽 Watch the video: https://lnkd.in/eBNHe3F8 🎓 Becoming Dr. Autumn 📚 Autumn Fair, MBA💛 LYNN SQUARED® Consulting www.LYNN-SQUARED.com #FaithAndFinances #ChristianBusiness #Generosity #CompoundInterest #AutumnFair #ProfessorFair #LYNNSQUARED #Stewardship https://lnkd.in/eBNHe3F8

Sage advice
"Work incredibly hard and diligently, and be super proactive." Fortune spoke with Warby Parker cofounders and co-CEOs Dave Gilboa and Neil Blumenthal about the billion-dollar company’s dorm room beginnings, why they haven’t raised prices, whether they’d recommend other besties go into business together, and why their professor ripped their initial business idea to shreds. During the interview, the founders shared a piece of advice for young professionals. Read more here: bit.ly/3yOWOls

Hello. I have a technological device called a Hydrothermal engine, and its development might transform almost everything in American society and worldwide. Powered by free, abundant, reliable, and infinite water, the warm surfaces of oceans, seas, lakes... and ambient air. The cost is similar to what exists, with one particularity: Primary energy is free. To do this, stop the steam from turning the turbines directly. It transmits its pressure/flow to a liquid (water, ammonia, etc.), then the liquid becomes a hydraulic system. Thus, we obtain green, abundant, and almost free electricity. It ends the need for coal, fuel, gas, wood, etc. Newsletter The Current Amped about energy? The Current provides tips to help cut your energy costs and build a safe, clean energy future. It is my responsibility as a writer to produce engaging, informative, and persuasive content that appeals to the audience I am targeting. Conveying information effectively and aligning the content with the company's aims and voice are the same objectives when writing blog posts, social media updates, website text, or marketing materials. Research and creativity must be used to create information that is accurate, timely, and interesting. It is essential to retain coherence and clarity when adapting writing style for different platforms and readers in order to boost reader engagement and assist customers or employers in achieving their goals.
