Today leaders from Yale New Haven Health cut the ribbon on a new, state-of-the-art retail pharmacy located in the lobby of Bridgeport Hospital. Set to open early next year, the retail pharmacy will offer integrated, personalized pharmacy services for patients, employees and the community. “This pharmacy not only provides convenient access to medications, it also will bridge the gap between inpatient care and patients going home,” said Anne Davila Casas Diamond, DBA, JD, president of Bridgeport Hospital. The pharmacy will also improve access to pharmacy services for the entire community. “As retail pharmacies in general are reducing hours or closing down, this pharmacy provides an access point and another choice for community and hospital patients,” said LeeAnn Miller, PharmD, MS, vice president and chief pharmacy officer at YNHHS.
