Yale University Art Gallery’s Post

"Art is supposed to make you feel things, and come away thinking about the world a little differently. What better way to transmit a political message? The artists in the show communicate their point of view through beauty and craftsmanship. Good art may or may not be political, but this political art certainly is good." Read the New Haven Independent's full review of "Everything is Political" below, and check out the collection rotation while it's on view through mid-November!

The pieces selected for this article were some of the best ones. The exhibition felt timid and many of the pieces were a stretch and loosely tied. Labeling was unreliable in some ways, for instance, some pieces seemed so out of context that I had to go to the label to make sense. Other pieces I wanted to learn more so I went to the label, which provided nothing. Could’ve been better, and that Georgia O’Keefe piece, please add a label on the history and context as I am sure many people have never seen that O’Keefe which is a poster that was part of an environmental poster series, that included also works by other artists (like Lichtenstein).
