According to Syracuse University's Institute for Veterans and Military Families, an impressive 49.7 percent of World War II veterans went on to own or run businesses. Similarly, about 40 percent of Korean War veterans did the same, generating millions of jobs in the process. However, in this century, the rate of veteran entrepreneurship has significantly declined, with only about 4.5 percent of veterans who have served since September 11th have started their own business. VEL Institute aims to boost those numbers up and empower veterans to become business owners. In the military, we are handed a clear purpose and defined roles. Every mission has a specific goal, and every team member knows their part in achieving it. This structured environment creates a sense of direction and fulfillment that is unparalleled. However, transitioning from the military can be incredibly challenging. Suddenly, the purpose that once drove us is no longer handed to us. We have to re-ignite and re-define our purpose, carving out new paths and setting new goals. This process can be daunting, but it is also an opportunity for growth and reinvention. Fueling purpose through business, grounded in core principles and values, is at the heart of what we do at Warrior Rising. Military veterans bring a unique set of skills from their service—leadership, resilience, and a commitment to excellence—that continue to serve not only themselves but also their families and communities. By channeling these skills into entrepreneurial ventures, veterans can create meaningful impact, fostering growth and support in every aspect of their lives. At Warrior Rising, we are dedicated to empowering veterans to harness their potential and thrive in their new missions as business leaders. At Warrior Rising, we understand these challenges and are dedicated to helping veterans find their new purpose. Through our programs and support, we empower veterans to channel their skills and experiences into successful ventures. Together, we can navigate this transition and create a future filled with renewed purpose and achievement. ____ Jason Van Camp Ken Vennera Reggie Ordonez Kurtis W. Here's a business scale-up strategy every entrepreneur can learn from the British military. The British military are brilliant at scaling up teams. A 2-people scout team. A 4-person fire team An 8-person core team called a section A 30-person platoon for taking over a territory. Translated for your business, that's: A 2-person scout to find opportunities A 4-person team to create a campaign. An 8-person team to do 1 million in revenue. A 30-person team to make 1 million in profit. That's your scale-up strategy. #businessgrowth #businessstrategy #businesscoaching

Resilience, adaptability, and a relentless drive to succeed – traits that define both military spouses and entrepreneurs. Both are accustomed to navigating uncertainty, managing multiple roles, and thinking on their feet. Military spouses often have to handle family affairs single-handedly while their partners are deployed, much like entrepreneurs who juggle various aspects of their business. Both groups possess a unique ability to build networks and communities. They understand the importance of support systems and are adept at leveraging their connections to advance their goals. Additionally, military spouses and entrepreneurs are both masters of resourcefulness. They make the most of what they have, often working with limited resources but still achieving remarkable results. Brands like Microsoft and Amazon have launched accelerator programs to help launch and fund start-up endeavors led by women. The Department of Defense is also getting in on the action of supporting military spouses through training programs and mentorship, such as the Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program. Whether through military spouse hiring or through support of entrepreneurial efforts of military spouses, brands have an opportunity to support the military community in a more impactful manner than offering a military discount on Veterans Day. #MilitaryMarketing #MilitarySpouses #Military #Marketing #Branding

Unlocking the Potential of AI in Defense: Beyond its well-known roles in strategy, offence, and defence, AI is pivotal in enhancing human operational performance. By leveraging AI's strengths, in partnership with US Army DEVCOM, we can efficiently scan OSINT to uncover relevant trends and innovations. This collaboration helps distill vast internet data into manageable insights, allowing humans to excel in decision-making – a true "human-machine teaming." What's also great about this engagement is seeing a UK SME collaborating with US Defence (Defense) - it's so key to the future strength of NATO that the industrial base, with their innovations that can scale, is there to work with all the member states and not just their sovereign ones. This versatile, dual-use AI tool can service not only defence, but also other industries by finding needles in the haystack with the efficiency only AI can bring. I’m excited to see this capability integrated into the #Collective suite of secure AI solutions by Team Whitespace. #AI #Innovation #Defense #HumanMachineTeaming #TeamWhitespace Hugh W. Whitespace proudly announces our partnership with the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (U.S. Army DEVCOM). The DEVCOM team will leverage our AI tool, Collective, to revolutionise the screening of breakthrough technologies for the Army's Science and Technology (S&T) ecosystem. By automating repetitive tasks and delivering curated shortlists of promising innovations, Collective significantly boosts efficiency, allowing teams to focus on strategic decision-making, enabled by its proprietary air-gapped AI system. This partnership also supports the Department of Defense’s Small Business Strategy, reflecting our commitment to increasing small business involvement in defence missions as an SME. We’re excited to drive technological advancements and support US national security with DEVCOM.
