The Sea Glass Carousel isn’t anything new but I think it’s one of the most magical experiences in New York and it’s only $6. It’s easy not to go - it’s in the Battery at the very tip of Manhattan but the Sea Glass Carousel uses form, materiality, and light in such a beautiful way that it makes for a very compelling visual experience. I walked in the rain to see this bit of magic and hear the laughter of the riders as the fish seamed to dance around under dappeled light during one of the grayest of days. https://lnkd.in/g3e-mkXb

It's one of my favourites as well. I used to teach at NYFA and would pass it on my way to lecture. It's beautiful, magical and so simple :)

very poetic
i did a small installation right in front of it and spent a couple days there. it is one of the most surreal carousels i've ever seen anywhere. the building is also crazy. the huge seashell
