New year's resolutions often fail👎 There are lots of ways people can make healthier choices for themselves and the planet. Part of being successful is choosing wisely. There is a cartoon that captures this insight. Two blue whales are talking, and one says, "My new year's resolution is to lose 38,000 pounds." Start too big or with too many goals, and we will lose confidence and then traction. We aim for whale-sized goals when goldfish-sized beginnings serve us better. The trick is picking the right goals and making sure they are right-sized. Those who resolve to take up healthy and sustainable behavior changes can make them easier and more likely by using the EAST framework: 🔵Keep the behavior easy, so it takes minimal effort to do 🔵Keep the behavior attractive, so there are incentives built in 🔵Keep the behavior social, so you see other people doing the same 🔵Keep the behavior timely, so you experience a benefit right away Find out how you can make your sustainable resolutions a reality🎉👉 https://bit.ly/40dTJFh #NewYear #NewYearsResolution #ClimateChange #Sustainability #Environment

🌍 Point of No Return: The Cost of Our Choices 🌍 As we continue to navigate the complexities of our modern world, it’s crucial to recognize the impact of our actions on the environment. The further we move into unsustainable practices — in terms of supplies, consumption, and discards — the costlier the toll on our planet and future generations. Point of no return — whether environmental or project viability — requires proactive planning, early intervention and continuous monitoring, essential to avoid reaching these critical points and ensure long-term success. Every decision we make today shapes the world of tomorrow. By prioritizing sustainable practices, we can mitigate the adverse effects and pave the way for a healthier, more resilient planet. Let’s commit to making conscious choices that benefit both our environment and society. Together, we can turn the tide and ensure a sustainable future for all. 🌱💚 #Sustainability #ClimateAction #FutureGenerations

There are two wolves. And they're always fighting. One represents darkness and despair. The other embodies light and hope. Which wolf wins? This is a tale I tell myself whenever I face challenges, both in my PhD and my journey towards creating a sustainable built environment. There are two sides of the coin we can see. We can choose to deny what's happening to our world and live our lives as business as usual. Or take even small actions, one step at a time, until we reach our goal of having a sustainable future. So, which wolf wins? Whichever you feed. It’s not about saving the world all at once, but rather taking one step at a time. ♻ Commuting to work by bicycle or walking instead of by car. ♻ Repurposing our products for various uses instead of sending them to the trash. ♻ Eating vegetables and fruits in their season. ♻ Buying clothes from second-hand stores. ♻ Stopping the overconsumption of everything. These are all small steps that we can take in our daily life. Whichever wolf you feed, it will become stronger and bigger. In the end, it will reflect on communities to become whole. #sustainability #climatechange #climateawareness #globalwarming #environmentalawareness #climateaction #sustainabledevelopment #personalgrowth #mentalhealth

"There is enough for everybody's need and not for everybody's greed." ✅ This powerful statement by Mahatma Gandhi ji rings especially true on World Environment Day. It's a stark reminder of the growing imbalance between humanity's needs and our impact on the planet. The Earth's condition is increasingly concerning. 🌏 Deforestation 🌏 Rising sea levels due to climate change and... 🌏 The alarming decline in biodiversity ...paints a worrying picture. These environmental issues are interconnected. They create a ripple effect that disrupts ecosystems and threatens our very way of life. The good news is—it's not too late to act. Here are five simple ways we can all contribute to a healthier planet: 1️⃣ Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: This timeless mantra remains powerful. Mindful consumption helps reduce waste and its environmental impact. 2️⃣ Embrace Sustainable Living: Opt for reusable products like shopping bags and water bottles. Choose energy-efficient appliances and explore alternative modes of transportation like cycling or walking whenever possible. 3️⃣ Conserve Water: Every drop counts! Take shorter showers, fix leaky faucets, and water your garden wisely. 4️⃣ The Power of Plants: Plant trees or support local community gardens. Plants not only beautify our surroundings but also improve air quality. Earth won't be Earth without these life-supporting green livings. 5️⃣ Educate and Advocate: Spread awareness about environmental issues and support sustainable businesses and organizations working towards a greener tomorrow. 🪜 By taking these steps, we can collectively move towards a more sustainable future. Remember, even small changes can make a big difference. 🌍 Let's all be responsible caretakers of our environment, ensuring there's enough for everyone's needs, not just greed. To add on: Choose more sustainable alternatives to everyday needs - Cooling, open windows; Need to get somewhere? Walk, bike, public transportation; It’s imperative that we not only follow baseline level sustainability goals but that we also hold the highest individual emitters of carbon and other fossil fuels accountable through public voice and policy to combat global warming.

I feel businesses can learn a lot from nature. I often like to sit in the forest and observe what's around. This year I've been taking a lot of notes from the way trees connect with one another. In a forest, trees are connected through intricate root networks and fungi, sharing resources and information to support each other’s growth. When one tree struggles, the others help provide nutrients and protection to sustain it. It’s a reminder that we’re all stronger when we support each other. In business, our networks are just as essential. Whether it’s customers, partners, or fellow sustainability advocates, the connections we nurture help us weather challenges, learn, and grow together. When one of us faces a setback, our community can be the support that makes all the difference. Let’s keep supporting each other as we move toward a healthier planet. 🌎💚 #EarthWarrior #BusinessNetworks #Sustainability #LessonsFromNature"

🌞 What brings you joy in life? 🌿 For many of us, it's the simple pleasures – the beauty of our surroundings, the warmth of the sun on our faces, the laughter of friends, the taste of delicious food, the scent of spring in the air, and the soothing melodies of music. These moments of happiness make my life truly special and I believe many of you share these sentiments. But what if, in an instant, these joys were taken away? Can you imagine the profound loss we would feel, missing out on experiences so essential to our human existence? Today, our planet faces unprecedented challenges – climate change, environmental degradation, and the alarming loss of biodiversity. Each day, the consequences of our actions threaten the very essence of the beauty we sometimes overlook. With the built environment responsible for a significant 40% of global carbon emissions, investors and corporate occupiers need to prioritize decarbonization efforts. As individuals and leaders in the real estate sector, we also need to take inspired action to safeguard our future. We all have a part to play. Whether it's reducing our carbon footprint, championing sustainable practices, or supporting initiatives that preserve our natural habitats, every effort, no matter how small, counts. The path to decarbonization and sustainable development doesn't have to be complex. Let's keep it simple: measure our progress, adapt our initiatives as needed, and celebrate every positive step forward, no matter how incremental. To amplify our impact, let's explore avenues for funding through grants and seek strategic partnerships that allow us to maximize our influence. Together, let's embrace the responsibility to build a more sustainable future. Every positive action we take today is an investment in the well-being of future generations and the preservation of the beauty that brings us joy. 🌍💚 #SustainableRealEstate #Decarbonization #PositiveChange

Can we aim to plant at least one seed this year? As we are facing significant environmental challenges let's aim to sow atleast one seed and nurture it till it grows. With mango and jamun season upon us, we can dry the seeds and sow them just before the rainy season starts. (We can also think of Neem, Guava, Golden-shower etc). Let’s anticipate their sprouting and relish the joy it brings, giving us a sense of accomplishment as their branches expand, filling us with pure joy. It’s a small yet impactful step towards building a greener, healthier, and making world sustainable for future generations! Go green 💚 #sustainabilty #eco #environment #climetchangeSolutions
