I stepped outside the usual routine yesterday, venturing into the wild (something I don’t do often unless it’s truly valuable). But yesterday was absolutely worth it. A huge thanks to Rebecca Baldwin for inviting us and putting on such an insightful event—the Always Raising: Women’s Health Innovation Series. I’m not usually a big fan of events (they can feel a bit cosmetic, if you know what I mean), but this one was a goodie. I soaked up some brilliant insights into the women’s health space. One question that really struck me was: “Are we exploiting or empowering women?” With so much innovation, different pathways, it’s easy to see how navigating this space can feel overwhelming for women. As we begin to build two new women’s health propositions, this is something we’re keeping front and centre. How do we simplify, clarify, and truly empower? I also spent the morning with Anniki Sommerville (midlife expert, author, and journalist), testing out an idea we’ve been developing together. Getting live feedback was invaluable, and while our pitch needs some refining, we had a lot of fun gathering those micro insights. Also remembered how great it is to get out into the wild—it’s brilliant for thinking on the business, not in it. Must do it more... but in small doses. Today, I'm home recovering :) #founderlife #womenshealth #femalefounder

Can $12 Billion Jumpstart Women’s Health? Sanskriti Thakur, Chairwoman of TOWER, shared with BioSpace, “Not accurately capturing 51% of the population drastically undermines the impact on our global health and productivity and lacks vital information on our evolution. Beyond the lack of therapeutic data, the lack of data on this area prevents us from efficient global health management, pediatric care, disaster response and much more.” Read the article: https://lnkd.in/gVXacfN8 - Lori Ellis (Katz), Monica Lefton, Lisa Barbadora, Sophie Lutter, Elisa Cascade, Kathryn Godburn Schubert, Chia Chia Sun, Carolee Lee , Carolyn M. This week, Dr. Kevin Billups and I had the opportunity to discuss a critical issue on NewsChannel5+: Why men don't prioritize their health. We delved into the reasons behind why so many men avoid going to the doctor and the impact this has on their overall well-being. We explored various factors, including societal expectations, stigmas surrounding vulnerability, and the misconceptions about masculinity that prevent men from seeking the medical care they need. It was a compelling conversation that highlighted the importance of changing these narratives and encouraging men to take proactive steps toward their health. If you missed the segment, you can watch it using the link below. Dr. Billups and I are passionate about changing this. Too many men are suffering needlessly. Together we are working to break down these barriers and promote a culture where men feel empowered to prioritize their health. #MensHealth #Healthcare #Wellness #HealthAwareness #MenMatter #ProactiveHealth https://lnkd.in/gxUKGi_a
