World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI)’s Post

The Partnership for Active Travel and Health calls on national governments to commit to walking and cycling in the next round of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to reach climate goals and improve people’s health and lives.🚶♂️🚴♀️ Alongside 286 other organisations, World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) is proud to sign the PATH open letter to national governments which calls for increased ambition, action, and investment in their climate commitments to fully unlock the benefits of walking and cycling. Enabling more people to walk and cycle safely and to access public transport by foot and bicycle can help cut transport emissions in half by 2030.   More active travel will in turn help tackle the growing physical inactivity crisis which sees 31% of adults and 81% of adolescents not moving enough to stay healthy.   Read the full letter here: https://lnkd.in/e2ffywTx   #COP29 #WHO #PATH #ActiveTravel #Cycling #SportingGoods #physicalactivity Caroline Brooks Michelle Smyth Emma P.
